Game crashes when I try to get my chocobo

Details:
Every time I select to trade in my chocobo issuance I get up to the part where I am supposed to name it. Then the game crashes.

Steps:
1. Talk to Rururaji
2. Select "Present your flame chocobo issuance"
3. Get a cs where the choco is presented to me, go to name her and the game crashes with no error msg or number. It just completely shuts down.
4. Have tried 5 times, with the same result.
5. Rented a chocobo and everything worked fine.
6. Rebooted, reinstalled, and tried again with the same result
