    This game lacks a good villain

    The legacy of Final Fantasy is that most of the villains in the series were good, complex characters who had their own arcs and motivations, a few examples;

    ::SPOILERS::

    - Keftka (FFVI) - No real plan, just wanted to destroy everything and become the god of magick (Awesome villain though)
    - Sephiroth (FFVII) - Wanted to merge with his mother (EWWW, incest) and become a god.
    - Ultimecia (FFVIII) - Wanted to cause Time Compression, merging past, present and future into one to become immortal.
    - Kuja (FFIX) - Wanted to destroy the world in an emo rage because he found out he was a clone for the inhabitants of the alternate world of Terra
    - Seymour (FFX) - Failed more often then Team Rocket but wanted to end all suffering and the cycle of Sin by killing everyone in the planet

    My point is, all these villains were MEMORABLE, with distinctive character traits. I think FF XIV kinda fails in this regard because the characters have such rediculous names that its hard to remember them (Lolorito... Eh... Seriously?), also, they villains are just not as compelling as some of Square's earlier work (Keftka anyone?).

    I just feel this game lacks a decent villain, someone memorable. The Ascians kinda suck in terms of characterisation and the Garlean Empire feel a bit less intimidating since we totally destroyed their top secret Primal absorbing weapon research base. Thorden was a good villain but still failed to be unique as he was just a homage to Knights of the Round. (The FIRST cutscene he is in, I looked to my boyfriend and said sarcastically "Definitely not a Villain"...

    We need a big reveal, like a Lezard Valeth (Valkyrie Profile 2 - Silmeria - One the BEST RPG's that Square Soft as has ever made in my opinion), somebody who changes the stakes.

    What we really need is a daring villain to rain hell from the sky, releasing an Elder Primal to destroy everything.

    Exactly, we need the stakes to be huge, like releasing Arc or Eden and using that as a base while preparing a planetary consuming death ray, however they need to gave a good motivation and good character arc as we learn about them and how they became like they did. Villains are best when they believe they are doing the right thing or they are a good person.

    They would be intimidating if they didn't look like Children and have ridiculous names. But this is the same company that brought us Nooji Wooji in Final Fantasy X-2... actually less said about that game, the better.

    Well, we have one coming but he's taking a nap right now. His followers are trying to wake him up though so he'll probably be up soon.

    I think its obvious who the main villain is, its tataru. She's zodiark super true final boss and turns out the whole lala race is in on it, duh <.<

    Spoilers, obviously.

    Nael van Darnus and Gais van Baelsar are great villains, but they have served their purposes. Lahabrea as well.

    If anything, Zodiark and Elidibus are decent ever-present threats, and Elidibus is especially interesting since he does not seem particularly evil- he just has a far different plan than what Hydaelyn wants.

    I'm secretly waiting for all the remaining Warring Triad to be released. And Kefka pops out on the other side, like "SURPRISE ************!!!"
