BSOD Problem. Could use some advice.

Hey guys, been having a series of blue screens lately. Usually I will know when it's about to come because all the character models will freeze in place in an instance and then suddenly the mobs will disappear and the sound will cut off. I just purchased new ram and it worked fine for a week then just came back today.. any advice perhaps? Thank you. Also updated my sound drivers and BIOS as well.

What about video card. Are you using Nvidia drivers on windows 10 at all?
If you downloaded the latest driver (364.47), it has been having issues and Nvidia is aware.

Otherwise I would suggest testing the RAM stick by stick until you find the fault one.

I am using Windows 7. With Nvidia drivers yes. This my rig right now if it helps. http://puu.sh/nAMe7/cbd463c29b.png . Ram seems to be okay because I did a memtest86 on it as well but with 2 sticks. I might try it with the other 4 sticks when I am sleeping or so..

Some obvious questions: do you have enough cooling for your rig? Are Temps good on your cpu, your gpu? Did you put your ram in the right channel? Some mobos require a specific channel set up if you're only using 2 sticks. Are you using the same ram brand for each stick? Are you using any 3rd party tools when playing ffxiv, like ds3, and if so what are they? Are their drivers updated? Seems to me that if assets aren't loading, it's a memory issue, and if you're getting bsod, it's either a memory leak or a driver fail.

I have the same GPU and OS as you... it may be your new RAM. You may just have to test all the RAM sticks, unfortunately, to make sure they all work (sounds like you have 4x4GB ?)

As for that...may just be the new driver. Though mine should've updated too and I'm not having any BSODs.

BSOD can be caused by all kinds of issues, but the first thing any IT person is going to suggest is overheating. Make sure you didn't accidentally unplug any fans while installing your new ram.

I'm sure I have ample cooling since it can most of the time play for 12+ hours with no failures. This just began to BSOD this morning once and hasn't happened again yet. All 4 sticks are the same ram so I believe they are on the same channel and should be alright as well. You may be right about the memory leak because when I get the BSOD it says memory dumping.. etc.

If it's only happening in this game and no other games (of comparable system requirements) it's most likely going to be an issue with the graphics card, either the drivers, VRAM, etc.

Only this game and it happened on Blade and Soul once. I was thinking of buying another gfx card to try it out to see if there's any difference sometime. When I play other games such as League of Legends, everything is fine.
