Anyone remember ninja gaiden sigma?
There was weapon called kitetsu it was a 2handed samurai sword but one of Ryu combo would have the sword split in two becoming a dual wield weapon. You could think of it as the soul of the sword coming out allowing you to do deadly attack flurries. I would love to see this as the Samurais main dps buff.
