I mean, I wouldn't be surprised. There are at least six civilizations that preceeded us in the current era, if not more. Why is it so hard to accept that Au Ra have no more connection to Dragons and void sent than Miqo'te do to Couruls?
Let's not forget that Dragons were concerned to reproduce asexually and Voidsent consume Aether to the point of killing and devouring different beings in order to consume THEIR Aether.
TL:dr Dragons don't need mates and Voidsent would sooner eat you than look at you. And if Au Ra are half Dragon half man, than Miqo'te are the decendents of Myracidian Cat [Kupo]ers.
If I remember my lore correctly, the field of death and the dead fall within the duties of the Thaumaturge. That's why the guild runs a burial chamber. One of the guildmasters even references necromantic divination in one of the early class quests.
Yes, the scepter is most certainly an instrument of death. Your death, you valorous fool! Remember the first lesson.
If a necro could shape shift into something like http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/...20130327055500 I'd play it =)
I would like to see another dps caster.
We apparently didn't, and never will get, Thief, because it does fit the role of "Warrior of Light", so yeah... Can't see Necromancer ever happening... Nekomancer perhaps...
No new Jobs until we get Red Mage... Seriously...
Combine Bravely Seconds Fencer and Wizard and you've got the perfect hybrid... Blazing Wolf stance > Frost + Hammer, and so on. Hey, FFXIVs Arcanist (well, Summoner) was seemingly partly based on/inspired Bravely Defaults Arcanist (which essentially had Fester), so I can hope, right? Fencer already functions similar to Monk (Wolf Fang will take you from Wolf stance to Aurochs, for example) and Spellcraft could function similarly to Ninjutsu in how they change the effect of another ability (hitting Ten turns Mudra into Fuma Shurikan, for example. Hitting Hammer would turn Frost into physical ice damage, while hitting Mist would turn it into a DoT spell). Arguable not point in having Heat/Frost/Lightning when XIV has no elemental wheel to take advantage of, but the Fencer side of things could always apply a debuff to replicate the elemental wheel, or the spells themselves could; Open with Frost, then use Heat to melt producing water ready to hit the enemy with Lightning.
If 4.0 gives us anything but Red Mage, Blue Mage, and Samurai, I'm going to scream...
Sorry but I'd much rather have Geomancer >.< It's nice how much thought you put into it though. I feel Necro doesn't fit this world. It even edgier than dank knight, maybe. What could work is like a Necromancer that summons creatures from the void, like some of the NPCs ive seen do it. I know there's at least 2 leve quest targets that summon voidsent things. Would be cool
This sounds hilarious

i think in every FF world necromancy is forbidden , and even then....when asked about it in FFXI times , SE told players that necro wouldnt be viable becaus necro can only summon at night ...and whatnot , we got puppetmaster tho (that it was fun on its own a bit frustrating when overload D![]()
what we really need is Beastmaster , dual axes or ranged weapon (whip?)
In order to keep in with the lore and theme of the game, I must insist that my bikini-clad tank not be met in with the presence of a lowly necromancer.
Needs more synergy with Dragoon, as they are the job most familiar with death.
Nahh I don't want another pet job how about a healer that can use death spells to absorb HP from the boss to heal people
