    Guardian System [First Draft]

Since the NovNet has come out - certain players wondered how this would actually benefit new players: I present to you the:

    Guardian System
Enlist a New Adventurer as some sort of deciple or underling to train.

The common Idea about the NovNet was that you include Mentors and New Adventures who are available and throw them into a LinkShell like Group with a ratio of 100/412 (512 MAX; LS Style).
However, most of the Mentors complain a lot if you talk about certain topics and some of the New Adventures don’t even wanna be in the NovNet at all.

So here is my go: You create a new programm, call it Guardian or Mentor System or whatever.
Within that you'd take new players around as a minio—err Deciple and take him trough the game and – maybe show them the ins and outs, the maps, how classes works, dungeons etc..

It could work a mix of linkshell and wedding, something like a new Chat Tab were all your underlings are listed. You can take 1 trainee/disciplee (until you level your guardian level) and when they are in need then can call upon you to assist and you get teleported to them via function (30-60Minutes CD; Wedding Ring Style).

    ------------------------
    Guardian Level
You start at level 1, where you can take only 1 deciple on.
You can obtain a scroll to form a sort of contract (both player need too) and then your bounded.
Each time you perform duties together (guildhest, fate, dungeon) a
certain amount of points EXP are given to boost your Guardian Level.
Once it reaches Level2, you can take on a second Deciple, then 3, 4 up to 5.

    Guardian Skills:
    - You called for me? 0/5
Teleports to your Trainee instant (30-60 min; CDR 5/10/15/20/25)

    - Well look at that ? 0/3
Increases buffs from spells and food (1/2/3/4/5)

    - You’ve grown up ! 0/5
Increases XP gained by % (1/2/3/4/5)

    < maybe expand >

    Time to Say good Bye:
2 ways to let your trainee go, you can either way nullify the contract by leaving / kicking.
Thus being unable to get the same person back for at least 60days and by rating the experience
you can give squareenix feedback what happened here (Inactivity, Bad behaviour etc.pp).
Negative points might lower your guardian rank.

    LEVEL UP:
You can end the contract at level 50 or 60, thus giving you more Guardian XP at 60.
At the end, your trainee again can give you a rating and feedback and has – once he finished his levelling career – the opportunity to recommend you as well.

    ------------------------
    How to train your Trainee:
Each time your’e with your trainee(s), thell get a small XP boost (I was thinking along the lines of 5% boost. Maybe stackable and multiplicator IF you go with more then 1 Trainee)

    - Trainee and Guardian Log
Like the C.Log and H.Log, certain duties can be performed weekly and daily together and both of them cn get bonus exp and Gil for fulfilling duties.

    - Crafted Items Boni
If your Trainee wears gear that YOU have crafted, each item that has your “Seal” on it gives a small boost in stats (+1 or smth; full Set +5 maybe? Its not much but its smth) (and maybe XP%)

    - Active Time Spent
As you have the Guardian Level, the Trainee gets a level as well. Each time you spent active time together in the field (not just in a party idleing) the trainee can boost certain skills – just like PVP.

Trainee Skill (only work in a party; will not work in EX or HighRaids):

    - Call for help 0/5
Lets your Guardian teleports to you instant (30-60 min; CDR 5/10/15/20/25)

    - Are you not impressed? 0/3
Increases buffs from spells and food (1/2/3/4/5)

    - Toughen Up 0/5
Increases your base stats in a Battle (by 1/2/3/5/10)

    - Look what I learned! 0/5
Increases XP gained by % (1/2/3/4/5)

    ------------------------
    Bonus:
Much like the Dutyfinder, if your Trainee is queing for say Sastasha and there is a tank in need – youll get the popup (like normal duty finder) and it ask you: your Trainee <name> is in need of <role> will you help? And then get qued as a tank, healer or dps for the dungeon.

Guardian and Trainee could get special –Currency, like Hunt, Lore and GC to be exchanged into Gear (with Boni stats if run together) , Items, Food – nothing fancy – but maybe a Tandam Mount.
Havent quite figured this one out to be honest .

Within that you'd take new players around as a minio—err Deciple and take him trough the game and – maybe show them the ins and outs, the maps, how classes works, dungeons etc..

Gotta admit, I do really like the idea. I'd be very willing to take on newbies to help them train. I'm also quite relaxed and would be open to questions and clarifications if there's anything they don't understand. Plus, I'd be more than happy to lend them a hand with anything they needed.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

I like the essence of the idea - though not sure about the actual implementation.

If there were a system like the one you suggested with unique buffs, gear, mounts, etc it would in practice be more about getting those items than it would be about helping someone. People would make alt characters and Guardian themselves and they would spam around town and harass newbies to try and get them to be their disciple.

The best mentors are those that aren't looking for any sort of reward and the system we have now I think is the better solution.

Thank you for your input I'm sorry that my choice of words kinda were missleading.

These Guardian/Diciple buffs and special effects only work in a party while those are connected. They do not work out side the Guardian System.
The Tandem Mount would need to have the same request. ( check.player_x.status = if.deciple.of.player=<name> = allow)
