    Man I feel the love..

Installed this again about 4 days or so ago, am liking the changes, but will likely quit soon reguardless. Every day I spend a few minutes in Ul'dah shouting asking about exp parties or joining a linkshell, and am either out right ignored or see stupid comments being made that get more of a response than me. This is just pathetic. Maybe I'll wait til PS3 launch and join one of the new servers.

You should catch up on current events before you make that decision.

Earlier to test if people were even reading, I decided to walk into the leve area, "/sh Vagina." .. within 30 seconds, "best shout ever.... xD" So ya, I'm pretty much just being brushed off by the people that are actually around... Really don't have the desire to solo to the low 30s just to finally meet people, considering just raising LNC to 20 for traits alone has been a boring chore, and am only 18, about 2k shy of 19.

Problem is that people dont really do XP partyes until you hit 27+ so what id suggest is to do leves til you hit that, then go to uldah and shout...

Pat pat. That sucks. I'm sorry it happened to you on your server.

I can list a lot of reasons why people in Ul'dah would not answer to a shout, based on my experience, opinion, and what I saw.

    - Most people sitting in town, including Ul'dah, are likely those who decided to stay in the city for the day or for the moment. They're usually busy crafting stuff, leveling up craft class, or doing Local Guildleves. Especially that now we just got a new patch, many people (especially me!) are behind in updating their gear. So chances are they're struggling with themselves or with friends trying to make new equipment, regear each of their class, getting ungimped. Man, I spent last week looking/researching/choosing/making or ordering my gear, and now I'm still half gimped due to my old gear being outdated or useless.

So in short, this might be a bad week to try to get random shout party with strangers.

    - I sometimes filter the /shout out from my chatlog because when I craft, and other people also craft around me, the chat lines run at extreme speed and I can't catch up. Sometimes I want to see my craft progress/EXP, so I want to keep my chatlog clean. People tend to spam the shout channel for requests and party invites, and worse yet sometimes people have shout drama in town, so yeah you get the idea why I wanna craft without seeing those. :'(

So don't get discouraged yet, maybe the nice people just didn't see your shout.

    - People who want EXP are usually out there in the field doing EXP grind or levequest. So they aren't home to see your shouts. Especially now we get Levequest Allowance which can be stocked up to 100, some people (like my boyfriend and my bro) let it stock up, and burn through the LQs on weekend.

Maybe you just got unlucky and had bad timing, or happened to log in and shout when no one who would interested is in town.

    - Some people, like me, don't join random shout party. I don't know about others, but for me I'm SCARED! I used to get invited to a duo PT, saying we would help each other do our LQ. Then the person did his/her LQs first (suck we didn't have any matching LQ) and said BRB, then logged off, never to return. I was ditched. In the middle of nowhere (well, in a dungeon, actually). I had to walk the whole way back town by myself because I couldn't solo my LQ (it was before they change how we set HomePoint, so I couldn't use Return to return to town). That just plainly ruined my day. I was used by a strangers. I wasted my time helping a selfish bastard who probably planned this from the start. I also have some more bad run-ins with strangers at Aetheryte camps, heck, in my Behest party, even. It's disheartening to see bad sides of people when you least expect it. Just totally spoils my fun. So I try my best to avoid it.

This is not to say I do not talk to strangers. If I run into another adventurer and he/she talks to me, I talk back. If they seem nice, we may form a temp party. If I see anyone shouting a question I could answer, I answer them and try to be helpful. But never again would I stop what I'm doing in town and follow strangers to somewhere out there.

    - Some Linkshells are real-life friends exclusive, or mostly gather people from same timezone for the ease of arranging appointment/event. So you might just be unlucky to shout where/when open/recruiting Linkshells aren't there. Don't give up yet.

I would recommend to make friend with other adventurers first, and if you like their personality or think they're nice, then ask them if there LS will let you join. In my opinion, it has higher chance to get a Linkshell invite from someone you've talked to/partied with before than from a total stranger who doesn't know you at all.

After all, I am sorry you didn't have fun in the game because of the players environment you've experienced. But I do think, and hope, it will get better. Sometimes it's just a matter of timing, sometimes luck. I wish you well, and good luck!

    Greetings Raythe!

Sorry that you had bad beginnings on our server. But please do not judge Rabanastre on a few bad experiences over a four day trial! I hope you decide to stick around- there is plenty to enjoy now in XIV- and the community may surprise you one day! It just takes some time now to edge your way into a good circle of adventurers. Understand that people have been playing for a while now- with the same people everyday. It has become quite exclusive and most have found their comfort zones and rarely do things outside their circle of friends or LS mates. Also! the people who are worth talking to usually have shouts filtered, for obvious reasons.

I myself have met some amazing people and some great friends during my stay in Rabanastre! and I wouldn't leave my home here for 800-million gil
