    Off-tank Enmity Generation

Is there still ever a risk of WAR pulling hate off of bosses doing the eye-block combo from a MT PLD or DRK? Where content is concerned, I haven't had a problem even during berserk burst timings, but I've not had the chance to clarify if the main tank had to spam his aggro combo.

For some context, I understand that this was more of an issue in 3.1x where off-tanks would generally run full STR and MT would generally do a mix of Fending/Slaying right side pieces, and so the damage disparity, along with the enmity multiplier on BB may cause some issues during the aforementioned berserk burst window. However, with the reduction to tank DPS, and the increase in the enmity multiplier of tank stances, MT in tank stance should never lose aggro to OT in DPS stance right?

If anyone has run any sort of testing with comparable ilvls (+-5) on both ends, or have more insight to this post 3.2, please enlighten me.

It shouldn't be an issue at all if the MT is in tank stance, but the issue arises when the MT drops tank stance to DPS, that the WAR has to be careful. So it is still an issue. Generally if the WAR simply watches his hate and throws an extra Eye or Path out when he's too high things are fine. There's a lack of awareness amongst some WARs that when BB spam forces the MT to use additional hate combos its a considerably larger DPS loss than a WAR using Eye instead, or Path if needed.

I dunno about PLD, with DRK, its generally best to start the fight with two hate combos and then start each new phase with one more, to top yourself up against DPS/healers if you've been stance dancing. If the WAR is rotating BB throughout, they'll have to use extra combos to accomodate the WAR.

You can have the WAR MT, and this is efficient for the WAR as they can DPS and hold hate at the same time, however you're missing out on DPS gains from the PLD or DRK MTing, as there are aspects of their toolkits that go unused (Reprisal, 210 potency, Shield Swipe, 150 potency) which again outweigh the 20 potency gain of each BB. Generally though, there's so many tank swaps in Midas that its less of a problem as the tanks essentially share enmity generation.

Yeah, when the MT is stance dancing then definitely so. The question was aimed more towards full tank stance. I also agree with tank swaps being relevant (yay!) making it more or less a moot point. Just wanted to know if anyone's ever done the math in this case. I'll keep that in mind going forward. Thanks for the prompt reply

As a paladin I haven't had any issues holding hate against anyone in shield oath. Warriors can get closer, but start with one, maybe 2 RoHs and I'm fine doing my full rotation or dropping RoH completely. I don't typically go into sword oath on serious fights as a MT. Dark knights don't have a problem holding back, warriors pull more hate, but I don't know what stance there in. But I have not had issues losing or pulling hate.

I actually haven't felt like WARs push an MT more than good DPS does in 3.2 yet. Maybe that will change as we gear and the multiplier on BB scales higher but as of right now, I'm usually lower or even with good DPS on the enmity charts as an OT even with a SE/BB rotation.
