well the thing is 3 things need to be to make a pet job more about the pet

1. the pet can not be big or else it will obstruct the view of the other players.

2. depending on the strength of the pet (lets say the pet did 80% of smn damage) can not have more survivability then other dps the reason this is is mostly because it would allow smn to bypass many mechanics without losing much dps at all, which is part of the problem with ground attacks as its next to impossible to have a pet dodge a mechanic in the same amount of time as other dps. on the other side of the fence if hes just as squishy and not able to react to movement as well as other dps the summon dies and summoners dps becomes heavily gimped.

3. adding on to the pets survivability youd also have to make it possible for the pet become directly affected by the casters debuffs or directly affected by mechanics as well (imagine a3s if the summoner could just keep the dps down and your summon wasnt affected it would be able to cheese some mechanics pretty easy)

so while yes it isnt impossible to implement i believe it would be much more difficult to balance a pet job in which focuses to much on the pet as such i believe its fine the way its currently balanced, maybe just make the egis better looking is all id say they need to do.
