Getting BSOD when trying to download patch

So, a few nights ago I tried to download the 1.19 patch. I started the download, walked away from my computer for about ten minutes, came back and saw that I had BSOD (blue screen of death). On a four month old gaming computer. . .

I figured maybe it was a fluke. So I tried the download again today and this time I sat and watched it, and after about 10% it froze, freaked out and crashed to BSOD.

Until now my computer has been running this game -just- fine. No issues at all. Is anyone else having this issue or have any idea how to fix it? I would like to be able to play again before I have to pay for it...

The updater uses alot of resources. It's actually a Direct3D application and uses a whole cpu core and alot of gpu power as well. I would first try to reset the settings for your GPU. Trying a different driver for gpu might also help.
