    Melding equipment and max stats

I am not usually proficient in melding, I have been hit or miss with it, and am wondering what the order of stats other than MND<--PIETY and so on so forth, and am having troubles with what I can't meld more on.

I am looking for the best stats in order for tanks/dps/heal

    Thank you!

On WHM either go full accuracy or meld accuracy on pieces where you can't meld piety (and ofc meld piety on those you can). On sch and ast change piety for crit.

    mnd can't be melded

If you're dpsing as a healer, you want accuracy in every single slot.

If you're not, or you think you have enough accuracy, piety is important on WHM since they have bigger issues with MP than other healers, though it's up to you if you think you have enough MP. Things like how good you are at MP management and whether you have an AST co-healer to throw Ewer are factors there.

After that, it's down to the usual Crit vs Det argument. Crit is statistically better point for point and on SCH it's not even a contest because of Adlo, but some prefer Det for it's reliability.

As a healer who decided not to meld accuracy, I've been going by Crit>Det>SpS>Pie.

As Sch I don't mind the no accuracy build because Bio and Bio II don't miss, sure I'll miss a Miasma or Broil here and there, but it's not like that's the worst thing ever, still making a contribution to dps. Tbh, secondary stats mean very little at this point, so just pick a stat that you feel helps you the most and stack it up.

this. though i also meld some accuracy since missing pretty much half of all holy and assize is no fun (my plan is to go to about 420 acc or something like this)

Honestly, it just depends on your playstyle and what job you're playing.

I main WHM but sometimes go AST. I used to try my hardest to get as much DPS as I could as a healer, but it was getting frustrating having a lot of misses. Then I sat back and thought about it. I don't raid anymore, so I don't need to worry about that. (Most raids want at least one healer DPSing as much as possible. Usually the SCH.) So then it came down to: do I want a better chance of my stuff to hit if I do decide to keep DPSing, or do I want to focus more on healing again and making my heals stronger? I decided on the latter. If I don't have anything better to do (when I'm just standing there, waiting for the tank to take damage) I'll go ahead and DPS, but I'm not worried about numbers anymore. Also, since I play WHM/AST, Crit isn't the best stat because they don't have the shields that SCH has that could benefit greatly from that stat (unless you go Noct Sect).

I want more reliability, so I decided on DET and SS. Also, I'm good at MP management, so I'm not worried about Piety. I rarely have issues with MP, unless I have people dying left and right haha.

SCH would probably want Accuracy and Crit, though, considering their skills and the way they are played.

Basically, think about your goal, and meld toward it.

When I say Crit isn't the best stat, I meant for myself haha. I would rather know how much my heals are going to be, and healing accordingly. If I had a high Crit rate, that would throw it off and I'd end up healing more than intended.

If you like DPSing in Casual content but don't like missing, you'll probably want to meld at least half your gear with Accuracy materia to minimize that occurance.

If you're going to be DPSing in Savage content, you'll probably want to meld EVERYTHING with Accuracy to guarantee that damage.

If you're looking just for healer melds, any of them are fine as long as they match your play style. I'm personally partial towards Crit. Meld PIE if you need more MP and the item allows for it.

In terms of what can be melded, every single piece of gear in the game has a "stat cap" based on their ilvl. Every piece of Lore / Midas / HQ Crafted Gear will have capped primary stat (MND for healers) and every left side piece (Body / Head / Hands / etc) will have capped VIT as well. Generally speaking the higher of the two secondary stats on a piece will be "stat capped" and the lower will be high but not capped.

Exactly what Ghishlain said. The good/bad thing about playing as a healer is that there is no REAL good right or wrong way to do it, so long as you are optimizing your melds (not losing stats due to melding past the cap). It all just depends on how you play.
