Dear Dev Team: A question about moving!

So we heard that, at some point, the dev team was going to implement a "moving" system that would allow people to move from an old house into a new one without losing any of their rare crafted items. And my FC and I want to know...

... Is it a full on move? Meaning all our items, personal rooms and ships(and unlocked ship areas) remain intact in the new house so we don't have to buy it all again? Because we've worked really hard for all our things, ships and rooms included, and we don't want to lose them. But we have a small house, and our FC has grown significantly since housing was released and we would very much like to upgrade to a medium house because our tiny house is getting very cramped. But we don't want to lose all our hard work and have to start all over... D:

Also: Is it possible to even upgrade from a small to a medium without losing everything in the process? Or is that not a feature you are including? We want to be very excited about the move, because we used to be so small but now we have grown so big! But, we don't want to lose all our progress.

Is there anything you can confirm that will at least let us know if we should start saving up or just keep our house?

Unfortunately no details have been released on the "moving" other than they were looking into it (so not even definite) and we don't even have a date for when it might be happening.

Patch 3.3 is supposed to add more wards to the existing housing areas (or at least that was the plan?) so if they're going to release a moving tool it's probably unlikely to be until at least then and that's 2-3 months away, possibly more. I can't tell you what to do with your FC, but that's quite a lot of time to redo all your airships again since you have the parts built already, but it's obviously a lot of work/time to do that, assuming you can actually get a medium house in the very near future.

I don't think they've ever said that the move system would preserve you destroy-on-pickup items.

The only feature that is pretty much guaranteed to be a positive, is that you will not run the risk of being homeless as you transfer from your old plot to the new one.

Based on previous dev actions, I expect that you won't be able to use the move feature unless you remove all items from your house and personal rooms, as well remove all chocobos from the stable. Maybe they will surprise us, and make a move feature that automatically transfers personal rooms, items, chocobos and workshop/airships, but until I hear official word otherwise, I'm expecting the worst.

I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask, since the FC is very cautiously optimistic. So I guess we'll just continue to wait for 3.3 and beyond. See if the Devs talk about the matter at all.

I'd sooner be worried about the amount of materials used over the progression. It takes no time to unlock all of the content again. I know from most recent experience. At least the parts can be taken with you to the new FC.

We're in exactly the same spot. We have a small house and a medium would be better for us, and we have the money for it too, but we don't want to lose airship progression and everybody's personal rooms. That there isn't a way to move the whole FC from house to house is punishing.

I don't want to be able to own more houses, one is fine. I just.... want to move. Then demolish the old house.
