Macro's that are actually useful ?

so everyone and their moogle knows not to use Macro's to bind skills together as this leads to a DPS loss .

However i want to know what some good /great Macro's are that are actually Useful inside or outside of combat ?

I guess a raise macro is good for being paired with a random healer, Maybe a virus one so you dont cast two on the same target.

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

Yepp definitely this, also tank swap macros so I know to quickly switch my adlo to the new tank, especially with the new mechanics create new timings for the switch.

When Lustrate was percentage based I used to use <tt> macros so I could heal in cleric almost the whole dungeon, but the macro is more detrimental now other than for energy drain and virus.

Macros that announce the use of denial attacks like Blunt Arrow, Shatterspine Dive or Spirits Within, so that you can coordinate their use and minimize resistance build-up.

Append: I have to question the pull macro. I mean, how hard is it to see what the tank is doing? Making a timer just adds undue stress. Use your words, ask if people are ready, use the Ready Check. You know, be social.

Every tank should use this countdown macro instead of that garbage ready check.

Do you know that when ready check window pops up on the screen while people are preparing for their attack opener, it's VERY VERY VERY ANNOYING!! Stop doing it. Just use a countdown macro so everybody can time their opener properly.

I hate countdown macros. Overly annoying.
Any in-battle macros are also going to impede your flow over time as they can't queue like an ability can. Even if it's just to announce you've done something. I can't tell you how often a Provoke macro never actually used Provoke, ending in a very dead other tank.

As someone else mentioned, crafting macros tend to be the only useful ones. Perhaps lengthy explanations or gear lot rules perhaps. But not for anything in battle itself.

These can be very usefull for players who are trying to get the "Perfect" opener as some classes require pre-casts to be effective such as Ninja Precasting Suiton before that battle begins.

I live for countdown macros. We get to a boss in a dungeon and the tank stops moving in front of the boss to make sure we're all there. Waits 15 seconds... hit's Z to pull out their weapon. "This must be it!" I think to myself as I hit QS HE B4B and RS... but the tank does nothing... My cooldowns are gone :^).

Actually, I have some macros. All abilities tied to it are oGCD if they involve abilities (with the exception of the provoke macro which also fires Shield Lob/Tomahawk/Unmend a second later if I fail to react after the provoke, but I am getting better at manually handling the bit after the provoke). I use a provoke macro, a SwiftRess macro (no hard ress one), one for my Hallowed Ground (Holmgang and Living Dead are NOT macro'd), and a pull macro. I also make macros to announce certain mechanics and how to deal with them, or manage positionals, etc. They're the ones that announce stuff to players that I actively use.

I also have 2 macros that don't announce stuff. These are Defiance and Deliverance. What these do is they /echo what ability got used, and adjust my hotbars so that abilities I can't use get hidden for abilities I can use. When I use the Defiance macro it adds Inner Beast and Steel Tempest to my hotbars, and vice-versa for Deliverance, which adds Fell Cleave and Decimate to my hotbars. When they're used, they replace the abilities found in the other.

Crafting macros? I don't use them. I manually click every single ability (which I don't mind doing, since I have a 17 button mouse)

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
