Not saying this in a place of inquiry, but your comments regarding this are completely annoying and useless. Also, if you know the information and have SEEN the benefits on your own character, wouldn't you be able to report your impression of your findings? I mean, it's not like your "friends" created these benefits.

Explain it, don't explain it. That part doesn't concern me, but what I will point out is your excuse is weak and simply to annoy and entice others to try and draw that information from you for attention. Like a lot of the things I see you contribute. Hey, it's negative, but at least it's attention! Right, Mrs. Millions?

i loved ffxi (700days gameplay in 5years) but no thanks to hidden effects. i don't get my jollies off trying on everything and staring at stats or using parsers or whatever else people do for min max and figure things out that aren't written in stone.

personally i can't stand that i need to look up food descriptions just for the effects they give, hated that in ffxi and i will hate it in ffxiv. just add it to the description in game, i don't want to memorize things like this. i want to play and only play.

i find it funny that mmo's have turned into a thing where they are trying to "appeal" to certain types of players. like now they are moved toward the casual and solo, people with lives ...but in what life time are there even a 5% of the mmo player base that like figuring out these types of things? so why do they keep adding them as a large part of the mmo game.

it's pointless other then some form of retarted synergy that makes us go to other sites. i hate it. just skip it ..that is my opinion. even in the ff offline series i'm not testing weapons ..if a weapon i get reads weaker then the one i'm wearing i'm tossing it, just retarted any other way. even materia is being given a list ...they realize it's hard to figure out, why in any world would anyone really want to figure it out. other then make some huge gils off it anyway. so that is my stance on this.

    No to latent effects.

If you need justification; look at how stupid cooking currently is because you get no information from the food you eat.

I agree that finding something hidden or unconfirmed is exciting, but leave that to loot drop locations, boss strategies, and theory-crafting.

I find it funny that you say that when you most likely didn't test anything yourself beforehand. Then you post here with "I might know something you don't but I'm not telling you" attitude. Very mature.

Actually, I don't think there is anything hidden, even if there are those that claim. After every patch, there are things that are altered, algorithms, etc. How could one find such hidden effects in so little time? Also, if there are hidden effects, you don't really have to share all of the info, but it would be helpful (and not against your policy) to at least name the item for us to test.

Also, she claims its her info, yet it was someone else that found out. How lame and rude. :P

The only "Hidden effects" I know of are that weapons have "Magic potency" in their stat sheets but it doesn't show ingame.

Thats exactly why we don't want another FFXI them items in FFXIV. Everything should be clearly defined and explained. Don't even get me started on direction of crafts and moon phases nonsense.

I vote for transparent food labeling. I wouldn't want to put on my stat-less gear and hope to get a "You are well dressed!" message and even then have no clue what it means.

Indeed, it's also one of the few stats present on some shields that isn't reflected in-game, which is why I said:

it's either a design choice to have certain things hidden or they actually are hidden effects.

They already do not tell us enough about anything going on, or what items do. It sure seems real short sighted to make a thread to ask them to intenionally impliment more changes, items, or stats, and not explain them to us.
