i loved ffxi (700days gameplay in 5years) but no thanks to hidden effects. i don't get my jollies off trying on everything and staring at stats or using parsers or whatever else people do for min max and figure things out that aren't written in stone.

personally i can't stand that i need to look up food descriptions just for the effects they give, hated that in ffxi and i will hate it in ffxiv. just add it to the description in game, i don't want to memorize things like this. i want to play and only play.

i find it funny that mmo's have turned into a thing where they are trying to "appeal" to certain types of players. like now they are moved toward the casual and solo, people with lives ...but in what life time are there even a 5% of the mmo player base that like figuring out these types of things? so why do they keep adding them as a large part of the mmo game.

it's pointless other then some form of retarted synergy that makes us go to other sites. i hate it. just skip it ..that is my opinion. even in the ff offline series i'm not testing weapons ..if a weapon i get reads weaker then the one i'm wearing i'm tossing it, just retarted any other way. even materia is being given a list ...they realize it's hard to figure out, why in any world would anyone really want to figure it out. other then make some huge gils off it anyway. so that is my stance on this.
