@topic sorta: My favorite were the crafting rumors of FFXI. I gave up on crafting in 11 for the sole reason that I felt like the planets must all be equidistant and properly aligned and I need to learn to do backflips through a hoop of fire before I could get a level 1 synth done. Someone tried to break down crafting to me...I stopped him mid way through and told him I just don't have that much time on my hands for one synth.

As far as hidden effects to weapons and equipment? No thanks. The fastest way to get two geeks to fight is to make them guess. They both will claim to know more than the other and then it's on.

ya that fact that you say this knowledge exists but wont tell about it is very rude and comes off as elitist. Is this information something that will break the elitism you all feel? I dont mean to sound mean but in essence what i am saying is that if you were sworn to secrecy why bring it up at all and hold it over our heads?

Not saying this in a place of inquiry, but your comments regarding this are completely annoying and useless. Also, if you know the information and have SEEN the benefits on your own character, wouldn't you be able to report your impression of your findings? I mean, it's not like your "friends" created these benefits.

Explain it, don't explain it.
