Mac Version wont launch

I have downloaded the client for the Mac version of FF14 but when i go to try and start the game the launcher wont...well launch. Ive tried uninstalling it and redownloading the client. I turned off my firewall but those didnt work. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Did you get the client from the Square Enix store or somewhere else?

and got the same problem as you did. I wonder if it will solve it if you directly download from the SE store instead of this link above.

I am having the same problem. After a minute or so it will tell me "this application is not responding" and that's that.

No idea how to fix it.

I can share what I have tried.

So I have a few Mac computers. I pulled the trigger and bought the Mac client from SE store. All my mac which are on El Capitan runs fine. The only one that has a problem is the Late 2013 21-inch iMach which is on Yosemite. It had the same problem as what you guys said. When I double click the program, it verifies and then nothing...

For those on El Capitan, (iMac late 2015 27-inch, Macbook Air 13-inch late 2013 and Macbook retina 12-inch mid 2015) they all started and I could play on them.

I am having the exact same issue. I just bought the mac version and I cannot get it to launch. I would try to open it and it would say Verifying "FINALFANTASYXIV" then nothing would happen. I would try to open it again and it says it cannot open because it's not responding. Then when I try to uninstall it I have to restart my entire computer because it says it's already open and I have no other way of closing it as it does not show in finder or my dock.

I am fairly new with mac as I just bought my mackbook pro last September. Am I doing something wrong? I followed the instructions in the SE store and it seems like there's nothing else I can do besides wait on my tickets to be answered.

Have you upgraded to El Capitan?

My issue seems to have been fixed by upgrading the OS to El Capitan.
