Housing - just want to be sure

We recently bought a house on my roomies char in a ward we like better and are sharing it.

Am I correct in I have to let mine reclaim and cannot just go back and let an npc buy it out for the same price as reclaim? Otherwise its a med plot in Goblet sitting there empty for 45 days instead of being used by a player.

I would sell it but there are, we shall just say 'studious' players on our server that love reporting sellers, even if there is 0 profit to be made off the sale. And I am not about to be banned for SE's poor planning and inability to give a definitive answer to anyone, including GMs.

Just want to be sure so it doesn't sit there empty if it doesn't need to.

Yes, you will only receive the gil if you let it sit there for 45 days.
