    People can't wait 10 seconds...

Sorry, but I need to vent. I am having a problem with my groups.

Every other group is playing like the world is going to end in 2 minutes. I pull a pack, lob my shield in there and immediately the whole shebang goes off. Heals, damage, the whole thing. Of course 2 mobs are running straight to the healer, my marked target to attack switches to the dps, while I try to save the healer. Pleas to wait for a Flash go unheard. I am not sure how to deal with that. If I say something, you only get comments like "L2P" or even worse.

People don't seem to realize that you have a 2.5 second GCD that you cannot circumvent as a Tank.

If your groups aren't watching their enmity bars then that's their own fault. If you are using the 49 PLD try to get to 50 you get an AoE DoT(instances synced below 50 notwithstanding) that will help with Enmity besides your Flash attacks. They will have to remember that you are there for them and if they want to go kill themselves then by all means let them until they learn their lesson.

This isn't going to "teach" them a lesson.

You know what will happen to these DPS? Because someone else COULD hold hate while they go ham on everything, they will auto-assume nothing is wrong with them, and it must be the tank.

Letting them die, won't teach them a "lesson" it'll probably just make them falsely think "It's still the tanks fault".

Everyone should be trying to adapt to each other. Team Effort.

Right. The tank generates and maintains aggro of all enemies, the DPS kills the enemies, and the healer keeps everyone alive. Break one component and your group becomes unhinged.

    right,

I'm just saying "letting them die" won't solve anything.

Talking like a reasonable human being is the best route. And if they are rude and say stuff like "git gud or you're bad" It's better to stomache such useless insults and just ask "How do we fix the problem?"

Maybe DPS can give some insight on how their "tank friends" keep hate. Or maybe once you establish hey you guys are 3 levels higher than me and better geared, maybe you should focus this one mob so hate control is something that's possible.

People seem so afraid to talk in this game, and they always respond to negative with more negative. which just feeds into this "bad community elitist feel" people get from trying new content.

People are already extremely conscious when they're new that they might mess it up for everyone.

    .
    Can I ask some questions?

Are you doing small pulls or big pulls?

Healer had hate right when you pulled? Did you make sure to take off any regen? and if the whm KEEPS putting it on you they might not know about it's hate generation.

It sounds like DPS were just doing the right thing. Once you get hate off healer, DPS can take a few hits, don't sweat it. Bring the mobs back to the targeted one, then build up to just before Rage of Halone> Provoke > Rage of Halone the targeted mob to get it back.

It really just sounds like the healer is being heal happy or sticking you with buffs/heals just as you pull.

Well my philosophy is I'll talk to them or offer strategies that work. And if they are friendly then great but if they are hostile I won't say much of anything and just truck through the duty fine on my own. I only get vehement when I know someone is for example lvl 45 in lvl 25 gear across the board and did 0 job quests and refuses to use any abilities.

The moment a tank stops, I assume it's go-time. If it's a small pull, I'll hit what they're hitting, else (in packs of 5 or more) it's AoE time.

    Fair enough,

you shouldn't HAVE to cater to instant hostile people.

But I try anyways, and more often than not they will cool down and respond back favorably. In situations where people are obviously just trying to get carried in yours. I doubt any kind of talking or actions could help them.

But you're a goldsmith. Are you hitting them with Pay day or something?
