add an in game parser please!!!

Toxic people are just toxic. People run third party parsers whether you know or you don't, ever wonder why that tank left the group after the first boss? 8/10 was because he wasn't pleased with dps.

While performing mechanics properly is part of it, this is also why you see "3 tries and reform" PF groups. It's less obvious (and less risky if you're afraid of a report) to just break up the group and re-invite the good players instead of kicking the one guy who is only pulling 400 DPS. It effectively accomplishes the same thing.

The people who do not or cannot parse may never know they're not doing well because no one wants to tell them in case the response they get is "OMG YOU ARE HARASSING ME WITH NUMBERS! REPORTED!"

The ban-happy nature of the OF is probably enough to give many people pause on what they say in game.

The numbers thing and banning, I wish SE just treated this like most US regulated facilities and just underwrite it with, "we will give you a parser, but if you say anything that could be meant to be negative remarks (snarky criticism included) you may incur a 1-3 day ban."

I'd settle for an official parser being a premade party option. I think it'd be a perfect compromise. People that don't participate in higher levels of play don't have to worry about being told they're not good enough and the people that want/need it can use it on the content that benefits from it.

An oversimplification. Parsers don't take into account the different ilevels of the characters. Will people be called out as :bad: for simply having lesser gear?

It's hardly an oversimplification.

We aren't talking about people doing 5-10% less (1300 vs 1150) as a case of "omg you are doing this all wrong!"
We're talking 1150 vs 400.

And don't say these people don't exist at cap. Because they do. And they are more common that anyone would like them to be.

We're not getting one. This bad debate has been going on forever on this forum. Get used to the idea. The dev team is smart enough to know it's not a good thing for the game.

We already have a few.
We just can't talk about it very openly.

I think I had someone parsing an alt of mine in a dungeon. He told me that positioning on my monk would help my dps. I told him I knew that, but that I honestly didn't have the coordination to constantly move my character for the attacks. He was cool about it and said he understood. Since I don't plan on doing any instances outside of the MSQ ones, and maybe ones with hunting log targets, I don't think it will matter all that much. Course not long after that dungeon I found out I should have been putting points in STR and not DXT. ^_^' So I think putting all those points in the right stat probably helped.

No, because we as players have the capacity to look at another character and see what gear they have equipped. Anyone with brain one in their head isn't going to expect Savage-tier DPS from a Dragoon wearing a mix of un-upgraded Law and green dungeon gear. However, if that same Dragoon is doing 400-500 DPS that's definitely cause for concern as that wasn't even top tier DPS back when Dreadwyrm was a thing. It's like I've said many times before: a parser is nothing more than a tool. Stupid people can use tools just as easily as the rest of us, the main difference being that they usually use them incorrectly.

I'd just like to thank all parser users that also us fflogs, as a ps4 user this really helps. It was nice to see i was top dps in my latest va run, considering I am what you would define as a casual on the pve scene.

(Only do VA once a week, and Midas NM runs)

Whilst I know there is improvement needed, I at least know that when I handle mechanics I still have a fairly decent understanding of my rotation.
