    Rank 20 Chocobo??

    My chocobo is currently Rank 19 (1.7 or 3.6 mil done).
    When my bird rearches 20, will I need feed it another Thav Onion to actually reach it?

    If I remember right, no. Pretty sure it caps no differently than other levels, which means you can level up to the next (it won't stop you 1 exp from level).

    Onion is needed to start gaining EXP to the next rank, not to actually rank up.

    In short, once you hit 19 and use the onion to break cap to 20, you don't need any more.
