Melding equipment and max stats

Well as ast my priority is

735 spell speed then stacking det > crit

As ast sometimes i feel a bit slow when casting heals in time even if precasted (damn recast) this will reduce recast to 2.35 (noct) and 2.23 (diurnal) after this i will stack det as it flat out increase all damage and healing then will go for crit last if able

Thing is ast really only got GCD spells in order to heal.... Yes we have instant benefic 2 and essensial dignity and yes light speed too... But what players dont know that with spell speed u can get 1 extra cast of whilst in light speed (light speed only effect cast time.. Not recast maximun of 4 cast with no spell speed 5 with 735 spell speed in diurnal need more for nocturnal)

Also spell speed effects all dots and give minor healing to hots (very little) and since comburst 2 is our strongest hitting dot and unmissable

I want to hear opinions on vit in accessory pieces. On the one hand, extra HP shouldn't help too much. On the other hand, the extra HP might be so much bigger than the boost other pieces can provide.
If I don't do any vit, I was thinking of just doing accuracy. While DpSing shouldn't be my focus, I don't feel like my healing needs any more help, and the boost in DpS is bigger than the boost in healing I would otherwise get.

I mainly do dungeon and unsynced content with my healer, if that helps.

If I catch up to the raiding curve, I've been thinking about getting and melding two sets of gear for my Scholar. One stacking Crit>Det for everyday use, and the other stacking Det>Pie>Acc to summon Eos in to boost her heal strength (and for my other jobs when they hit max level). Setting aside the obvious time and gil sink, would that produce any appreciable difference?

Probably not worth it. But then I've also not had accuracy issues in anything less than the current Expert roulette, so maybe Vit would serve you better.

Pet stats get recalculated when you use Rouse (or Enkindle Spur as a SMN). Not really worth it.


As for healer meld priorities, Accuracy, then Accuracy, then more Accuracy, then even more Accuracy, and finally some more Accuracy. Maybe add some Accuracy, too.

But seriously, it's the only secondary stat that has any noticeable impact on your performance and isn't mostly exchangeable with another secondary stat, and this is why you should focus on melding it, no matter which healing job you play. DPSing when there's nothing else to do (and you're not seriously MP-constrained) is part of our job and it's time that people got over this.

Any other secondary stat stacking according to your playstyle should be done by gearing choices, not melds, because we can't really gear for accuracy (thanks, SE).

Actually, pet stats only get "re-checked" only when you use Spur on SMN. My Fairy is currently healing for approximately 1,720 per Embrace. After, I unequipped everything but head, pants, and weapon (darn you limited inventory) and Rouse'd. Once the buff wore off my average was still approximately 1,720.

So what DarthVella is suggesting does work but I don't think it's worth the Gil and/or effort either since any i240 pieces should out weight any penta-melded i220s in terms of Eos / Selene healing due to the MND differences.

Thanks for the feedback, especially about Spur (that's a bit of odd behaviour, IMO). I'm not intending to pentameld, just to use whatever natural stats and open materia slots are on the top ilevel equipment.

Hi would like to know your opinion on Dragoon. Some say to go for vitality, strength or crit.

I feel Crit and strength might be good but do I need vitality?
Or put all into one kind of stat like all crit or all strength?

As SCH, my firt thought was to meld accuracy on everything. However, I'm thinking I should wait to see my accuracy % in Savage content before doing any decisions. If the miss % isn't significant, crit would be my main priority.
