What we don't know is how the jobs are built up for example, a Paladin could have a better tanking build over Gladiator overall, which then Gladiator could be made more open ended and focused on offensive side of things -- Which Yoshida states they're looking into making Gladiator more offensive.

So we really have to see how they're played and built up to really understand the system. He already explained jobs were more specialized in group settings while classes will remain how they are (open ended).
