    more PET jobs please!

    OK square I would really like to see more pet classes in the game here are a few that I would like to see.

    DPS
    Puppet Master-would be a good close combat Dps.
    Beast Master-would love to see a beast master in the game maybe with a whip as a weapon.
    Necromancernecro/Void Mage-I know that a lot of request on old forums have mentioned necromancer for a pet job including myself would love to see it but lore wise it may be a bit difficult to implement what about Void Mages casters that use dark based spells less, Rituals and able to call upon lesser voidsents..Could have a requirement of having a BLM at maxx lvl to unlock.

    TANK
    Chobo Knight- I know this may sound odd but a chocobo Knight will be cool. Using the chocobo as support. Would love to bring my chocobo with me in dungeons

    I want to agree with the topic but I honestly can't bring myself to and I'll tell you why, MMO design nowadays has turned pets in to little more than a glorified DoT while the player does the majority of the work. It's why I don't like Smn, the pet is basically nothing more than a bit of extra damage rather than being about you know actually SUMMONING things. Imagine if Smn actually summoned a large version of the avatar then mounted it and your hotbar was replaced by various attacks that you'd make the pet do. Essentially making you feel like you're a summoner commanding this powerful creature from it's back.

    If we get a pet class, I'd want the focus to actually be on the pet and commanding it. Not on it being something that just supplements the job's damage.

    All sayed. SMN should be THE PET JOB but SE messed it up to a Mage with a sidekick more and more. For a real pet job they should take SMN and swap the pet and the player. Pet means all (skills, abilities) and the summoning job should just summon the pet and then get treated like the summons of the SMN yet, while the player starts to play as the pet and the summoning avatar just as a sidekick.

    ffxi and ffxiv aren't each other titan wasn't meant be tank pet to begin with. I see pets in this take bst for example i think be cool to have pet attack. it catch enemy off guard so enemy turn focus on pet then bst attack with his or her whip. then enemy is confused turn it attention to bst then pet finish it attack off deal killed blown.

    They aren't, but I'm going to go ahead and say it, an improved version of the FFXI summoner is what I think this game should have gotten. In HW it's pretty clear they're basically abandoning pets for summoner and it's a shame as it's a system that I believe had a lot more potential.

    Things to consider when making a FFXI like pet job. First if pet dies, dps is gone. Second you would need a channeling type function to account for a 2.5 GCD so you can't just running around dodging everything and avoid all the mechanics without penalty.

    Don't assume I'm please with the path of Summoner in HW, in fact it's the opposite. I think SE has giving up on pets jobs too on both SMN and SCH.

    It's clear they backpedaled on the concept of Pet Class when the only new Pet action is a lvl 60 skill for Scholar that reads "Orders your pet away while granting you a full Aetherflow stack. Also increases healing magic potency by 20% for 35s (PvP 45s).
    Summon or Summon II cannot be executed while under the effect of Dissipation."

    So basically they are in favor of doing away with Pets rather then having them around. Hilarious. And you know how many new Pet actions Summoner got? None.
