I understand the next anima upgrade is coming in it (i225?). Are they going to adjust the amount of items needed for the previous step?

What about other things like orchestrion rolls, sightseeing log entries, or Hildibrand quests?

As long as we don't have to deal with Sphere Scrolls again. Alexandrite is easy as pie to get these days but I remember when you were lucky to get more than one per day.

They haven't given any information about the next step yet, except that it's coming in 3.25.

They would more likely adjust the rate at which you acquire items for the previous step rather than reduce the amount needed, but only time will answer your other questions, we don't have access to details of future upgrades.

I'm fine with the current number (I have PLD weapon). I'd like to get NIN weapon, but since Eso Tomes is no longer capped per week, I find myself gearing my alts rather than buying the Unidentifiable items. If the Items were at a lower cost, I'd be all over it.

Or worse... You log off at the spawn location. Get home from work, log in, and the FATE is active. But...it's like 98% done, so you don't get Gold.
