I do roll on anything because I don't have the patience to sit through 100 wipes for 1 item, but it shouldn't be that way to begin with tbh.

I'm really not a fan of this loot system.

Make a a party or get in a nice Free Company. You'll fail way less. And they'll help you understand the mechanics. A8 is probably one of the best designed fights in the game IMO. Even if it essentially is a merry go round.

I do agree it's a great fight, but the skill level in DF is just too low. I also have a tendency to avoid FCs....I never fit in well with groups of friends and whatnot.

Ah well, I suppose it's just me in this predicament. I'll just do it when I feel like it, if not, oh well.

The never ending wipes, 8 people rolling on 1 item, it's making me not want to even do it anymore :/

they are referring to the numerous runs needed to get the token they are after. so of course, more wipes

Its a matter of luck...
i tried it with randoms @ duty finder, wipe over wipe. Last pull ppl seemed to get mechanics but we hit enrage....

lol. We do it static only now.

When people ask me if a swap is needed, I tell them to do it at their own discretion.

First run of the day, one tank was new and the other wanted to swap (but said nothing). We wiped shortly after entering the second phase, and then the tank suggested swapping.

Party was pretty awful though. People kept dying to mechanics and the DPS was awful - we were at 70% on the first Brute Justice jump away. I thought for sure we'd wipe to enrage, but we managed to bring him down before it.. somehow.

I am seriously reconsidering my idea of gearing alt jobs in Midas gear.. at least, maybe not shafts/bolts.

Almost never wipe on A8 DF or otherwise Almost everyone seems to understand all the mechanics, even the Swindler's surprisingly enough. A7 is another story, but even then it's only around 30-40% wipes on the 2nd week and it'll just get better as more people learn the fight.
