Knowing that his arm has been severed since 2.55 onwards, is there any indication that Cid might make him a mechanical arm? Since we know Raubahn is a skilled leader and fighter, I wondered if he has felt limited with one missing arm since 2.55. I hope that with the story content to come, Cid makes him a mechanical one.

It wasn't his dominant arm, but considering Raubahn used to fight with a weapon in each hand, and even a one-handed style requires the other arm for balance, there's really no good excuse for him fighting as well as he does right now.

Sadly he's popular and thus given a free pass because 'Rule of Cool'. I'm not sure why he can swing a broadsword around with one hand effortlessly whilst the other is useless. Hyur aren't that strong, surely? Raubahn losing his arm was the only lasting physical consequence in regards to the ending of 2.0...and even that didn't last. I'm very much in the camp of injuries being meaningful - because otherwise there's not much point to them. Losing a limb is a huge deal. I also dislike the idea of him gaining a mechanical arm because...do we really need another convenient plot device at the hands of Cid?

Thancred can't use aether anymore yet he delivered a sonic uppercut to a cylcops powerful enough to knock it on it's bottom. So I don't know, I can't really find much issue with Raubahn still being a powerful warrior when he can kick a solid, stone pillar off of it's foundation and Thancred can do that presumably without the aid of "special" powers.

But his abilities did take a hit according to his son, not saying when that is said since its spoilery but yeah Raubahn isn't as godly as he was when he took down the thousand fighters that netted him his seat on the syndicate.

This is a man who as previously stated kicked down a stone pillar with sheer brute force and who is ambidextrous, furthermore he was already off balance with that armor of his so that is something, he is skilled enough to adjust.

Come to think of it, althought I haven;t played XI, I read that there was a Blue Mage with the same name as Raubahn, I wounder if that has something to do with those Radiant Plume and Hellfire Ersatz he used during the Grand Melee?

His name is a reference to XI's BLU guildmaster (well, not a guild, but the guy you learn BLU from.)

Raubahn could be this games version of Barret.

if anything his sword, Tizona, is a reference to XI-- it being one of the ultimate Blue Mage weapons; though Radiant Plume is an attack from Ifrit in this very game!

His fighting style made me wonder if it and Ilberd might be hinting at future Jobs in 4.0. His attacks seemed very magic based. Regardless Pipen makes comment at the end pointing out that he is weaker than he was with two arms so this is actually less strong than he used to be.

Yeah Raubahn in XI is a blue mage. you limit break the final time to level up to 75 by fighting him (its hard.. understament)
He is also the leader of The Immortal Lions and right hand man to the brother of the empress of Aht Urhgan~ this Raubahn is more or less XIV's incarnation of him, or atleast a strong reference.
