Why type /cheer to be expressive when you can jump instead, since you apparently think the two are the same?They do serve a purpose, they're EMOTES. They're designed to help the players express themselves, as if they would in real life.
And I know what you're going to say, you're going to argue that "jumping" can be expressive too, like emotes. Well in that case, it's still pretty damn useless. There's no place to use Jump as of now, and why hop like a bunny when you can just type /cheer to be expressive?
