Jump in the future is confirmed

I support this so heavily that I'm just going to copy/paste your signature.I support the introduction of a free jump and swimming feature in FFXIV as well.

If yoshi want to make a Final fantasy like he said swimming and jump won't be added.
What makes a Final Fantasy? No swimming or jumping!
How stupid.
I remember swimming in FF-X by the way. I guess that wasn't a Final Fantasy.
Its a miracle you even know how to turn on your computer.

The standard mode of movement and transportation is running, walking, mounts and teleportation, all of which XIV has -- Jumping as a standard is an animation, it doesn't even let you get around "objects you'll get stuck on", only a few MMO does, which doesn't make it a standard.
Why can't I play a MMO tailored to my tastes? Just becasuse it's a MMO doesn't mean I'm not allowed to speak out about developement topics that I don't agree with, or ones I feel would be good for the game. That's the point of these forums I'll never understand people who come here just to try and "Shut down" people for there own ideals because they don't agree.
Discussing the topic can do nothing but good for both sides of the arguement lest we start hurling useless insults.
People are going to argue for/against jumping in XIV until the end of time wether it's implemented or not, get over it and join the conversation if you have something to actually add to the discussion. Otherwise telling people to "Go play a offline game of your tastes" is the most useless thing you can say, stop trying to stifle everyones voice wether you agree or don't agree. People come to a forum to....my god discuss things, let people discuss things.
That's far from "Confirming" the jump features release, when we see it show up in patch notes it's still up in the air. Yoshida has stated that a large portion of the userbase is AGAINST implementing the feature. So it's as likely that the plans are on hold until they can convince the players that it would be a good idea.
I'm not convinced yet, neither are many people here.
I want to hear what they have planned for a "Jump" feature before I condemn it but we don't have any information so one must assume it's going to be as useless and stupid as the most emulated game on the market.

You're mistaken, has nothing to do with shutting down opinions. Trying to white knight is pretty popular though. Why can't I play a MMO tailored to my tastes? Perhaps you should have quoted my entire post. No, that's okay, I'll do it for you.
It's about what's good for the game as a whole. Sorry, but MMOs aren't designed for one person who has pet peeves. We all have them, if they acted on all of them the game would likely be a steaming pile.
Pretty sure most games let you jump over stuff when you jump, lol.The standard mode of movement and transportation is running, walking, mounts and teleportation, all of which XIV has -- Jumping as a standard is an animation, it doesn't even let you get around "objects you'll get stuck on", only a few MMO does, which doesn't make it a standard.
Number one, you didn't quote the entire post which adds weight to the context so here it is:Why can't I play a MMO tailored to my tastes? And then I see your quote with his follow up.
You'd have to be pretty far up de' nile to still believe jump is not coming.
Why would I quote your entire post when I am responding to a particular peice of information? I read the whole thing and I understand what you are saying. Quoting the whole thing doesn't change what I said.
Telling people to "Go play another game" is shutting down their opinions it's akin to me telling people to STFU and go play WoW if they want to bunny hop over earthquake attacks. My point stands that when you say "Not to be rude" and then go on to be rude, thats a asanine response.
What makes you think that jumping is "Good for the game as a whole" sure the developers may think it's a neat and fun idea, but many people don't. Yoshida himself even said there was alot of lashback at the idea of adding jump to the game. I'm not telling the developers to act on my every whim, I am however voicing my opinion on the subject so they are aware of what I and others think on the subject.
Just letting the developement team to "Go it alone" and ignore the players by shutting down our discussion with asanine comments is pretty much telling the devs to do whatever they want, they asked for our input and continue to ask for it. Until they stop asking I'll keep telling them what I think, and I expect you to do the same.
I don't think adding jump is "Good for the game as a whole" So I will voice my opinion on it, I could care less what you think I'll argue my point as well as I can and if it's implemented so be it, I at least let them know what I thought of the idea instead of just twiddling my thumbs and didn't bother to let them know I don't agree with the choice.
I guess I'll stay "Up de' nile" and wait untill the developers actually talk about a jump system, thing have changed a good deal from when Bayahone posted that. It still doesn't confirm jack all.
I guess I can go around spouting that the bestiary is in the works because Yoshida said he would "Look into it" Bay may very well have asked the dev team and got a thumbs up from them to say that, things are always changing in the dev process things are always being evaluated for implementation. As much as I trust and respect Bay I know that nothing is set in stone until we see it in the game.
I'll be waiting for it to appear in some patch notes before I "Confirm" it's release.
