You are aware people are against it for more than just to spite people who want jumping implemented right? There are some very real problems that need to be surmounted before it could even be thought of being a good thing for the game.

First things first, server lag makes any content that required jumping or sharp reactions next to impossible. have fun trying to leap that gorge with a 2 second delay on your actions.

The same thing can be said about everything that involves moving currently but those you are just supposed to L2P apparently (not necessarily from yourself). There's a very small minority that jumps around like idiots in any game, that isn't reason to avoid it entirely.

Like what? The whole world is being redesigned in 2.0, so there is no excuse that, "It wasn't designed around jumping."

Pre 2.0 I can understand not having it in, though 2.0 should be designed around jumping since it's already been confirmed, and if it's designed around jumping, there is no reason 2.0 should launch without it.

QFT. This is exactly the time we should be talking about this. The dev team is redesigning the game from the ground up, with a new graphics engine. It is imperative that they know what their new needs are and that the game will be able to handle them.

Given the negative reviews that cited lack of a jump feature, if they make that mistake a second time, it will be sad and laughable. FFXIV cannot compete in a modern MMO market without methods of movement and transportation that are considered to be a standard.

The standard mode of movement and transportation is running, walking, mounts and teleportation, all of which XIV has -- Jumping as a standard is an animation, it doesn't even let you get around "objects you'll get stuck on", only a few MMO does, which doesn't make it a standard.

Pretty sure most games let you jump over stuff when you jump, lol.

the standard form of movement. is moving left, right, forwards, backwards, up and down. this is in most games. with out 'jump" we are missing the standard form of movement. as for transportation i could easily put in bicycle, cars, vans, and many other forms of transportation in that broad category. But i do see your side of it. if left out forms of movement i don't like, i could make asinine comments, and make them sound like the standard. i personally would rather stick to reasonable arguments.
