    I totally agree!!!

I want every class replacable by every other class too! It'll all be perfectly balanced! Everyone gets a trophy! There will be no strong or weak points!

Screw that. I want my job to be unique to itself. Whether I'm conjuror, marauder, thurmatage, I want to have a unique roll. When my party lacks a conjuror, I don't want any other job to be able to perform that function. Or a tank. Or DD, or crowd control, or puller. You need a little big of each. You need a tank, a healer, some cc, a puller, it's just how it is. Not everyone gets a trophy, it's just like the fat kid that comes in last at a race at school gets a trophy for "trying hard." No, you are fat, you didn't try as hard as the other people, and do not deserve a trophy. When you see "CNJ can i have it" that means they want a conjuror, don't get mad because you can't play too. Find something else to do, start your own party/group, level another job. There's less conjurors in most cases because not many people want to be a conjuror, because it can be simply not as fun, so while you were out swinging axes and causing meyhem, someone toiled away being a cure bot for you. Now you want to take away the reason they went through leveling conjuror? I play a white mage in ffxi and a conjuror in ffxiv, because i'd rather be in demand, even if there were times were it was mindlessly boring. You could be the tank, but you wouldn't do big damage, you have to work ahrd to keep the mobs on you and just live your life taking beatings. Most people consider the big melee dps guys the most fun, yet those are the people that get upset when they're not the most in demand. The people that are the most indemand are generally the less popular jobs.

    /rant.

I just watched a few win videos. Seems Ifrit is just like Darkhold. Except now instead of ARCx4/Healerx3/Tankx1 it's LNCx4/Healerx3/Tankx1.

Since reading this OP I've been seeing shouts for "Lancers only."

It's not like people are just midlessly following these tactics either. It all comes down to MP. Darkhold, especially Ogre, was about avoiding damage. In Ifrit, it's all about out-pacing his regen.

I've been in a few fights that mixed it up and had a mixture of classes and MP is just gone by Phase 2.

I imagine things will be different when 1.20 class changes and 1.21 jobs are released, but they need to come out and say that. Because right now it just seems like they're making crap up just to keep potential paying customers busy for a year.

It's not about trying as hard as someone else. It's about the fact that lancer craps out tp and has superior weapon skills. So far, if you leveled only a pugilist to 50, tough luck. You're the "fat kid" who thought all classes would be able to perform.

Is it too much to ask that a group can go in with Mrd/Pug/Lnc/Arc/Cnj/Thm/Gla/whatever repeat class? Or four pugs? Or three melees and a dd mage?

I got 1-40conj in 2-4 days without getting powerlevel when the patch hit so no need for powerlevel that just a lazy way out.

I never did a " Lancer only" party once most I had was myself and someone else, but I never ask for Lancer only.. " thats just the one" way to do it.. and now that its known EVERYONE is and wants to do it that way, forgetting that there are other possible options. has nothing to do with being all lancers, I gotten Ifrit to 35% without a " Lancer only" party. All all comes down to Avoiding his Bombs/Dash/Lava if everyone can do that MP management will be Greatly improved, and Ifrit, will go down in time.

Well, until they fix server latency a year from now, it's a roll of the dice.

I've seen people get hit by Eruption when they were well away from the cracks. Same with the lava pools.

I believe the only class that got shafted from this instance are archers. It is pretty fine for all other classes.

People that say this: "I didn't know jobs were out!"

Just deduce what he was trying to get at. It ain't getting you any "cool" points by pointing out a misused term.

100 bucks says the first party setup to kill Ifrit will be the "optimal" setup and the same shit happens again. But it's not because other party setups don't work, it's because many people don't want to waste the time trying different strategies, they'd rather go with what's been proven to work just to complete the content as quickly as possible. (I find this extremely humorous as these are the same players keep asking for "HARD" content, not realizing that the content is only "HARD" until a strategy is formed.) This is further emphasized by the small population, resulting in only a very small amount of players actually attempting different strategies.

So overall you have 80% of the population using the "optimal setup" while the other 20% are trying different things (just pulling numbers out of my ass, but that's probably pretty accurate). So it only appears that the "optimal setup" is more effective, simply because more players have completed it like that as opposed to those who've completed it with different setups.

Seriously people.. Use your heads and try different things out for yourselves. Party composition doesn't make a huge difference in this fight.

And BTW, PGL does very well in this fight.
