It's a bit different when out of 8 available spaces, 5 of them are one class and that is considered "optimal." None of those games have that issue.

never knew "jobs" already are out... .
This Thread is about Mac and Cheese....

I haven't seen this yet. And I'm not sure what class would be considered better than others in Ifrit like in Darkhold.
Are you sure it's just not a result of needing a balanced party for once? DDs tend to be the first spot to fill so people need to shout for tanks and healers.

Simple solution: Everybody level a mage job. No matter what fight, you will ALWAYS need healers... so if you have one leveled, voila. You avoid the inability to join said parties.
if you DON'T want to level the job other people want you to be, then don't expect to do the content with them. Either make your own group, find a group who will take you, or whatever... But in the end, people would rather have the highest chance of winning... and there is almost always a certain setup that gives you an edge of winning any fight.

right now for ifirit the best winning combination is tank, 2x healer, and 4 x lancer this will eventually even out as people get more and more used to the fight. As with DH when it was tank and 7 x ranged classes.

The playerbase created this problem. Just like Darkhold and any other content currently available, there's no "right" setup, just one people found as an "auto win" combo.
So you hate having the right answer? It's present in every MMORPG to date. And don't tell me it's the players fault.
People are stupid who believe SE created a fight with only XXX class in mind. No it is the communities that create that not SE. Please turn your hate in the right direction.

The impression on SE may have started when Thamaturges lost the ability to area effect Cure and Sacrifice.
