    SPOILER AHEAD

Well, a new egi is possible in the future -
the level 50-60 SMN quests do in fact refer to an egi version of Ramuh and your character is actually instructed early on in the new Job quests by Y'hmitra to evoke him,... but you fail miserably. She then realized why you can't summon him - evoking an egi requires large amounts of aether sourced from the summoner, and at your character's current state (read: class/Job level), you simply don't have enough aether in your body to evoke him.

Thus as a result of this, it's highly likely more egis are planned for much later inclusion to the game, but not for a long time at least (my guess is probably when the level is cap is next raised beyond 60, probably when the currently hypothetical second expansion (4.0) launches.

Exactly when that will be though, your guess is good as mine I'm afraid.

I hope that it becomes a reality. I am looking forward to it because I'm using summoner as my main and desire more power

First, thank you Enkidoh for the reference. Thumbs up for that one. I remember it, just barely.

A new egi would be great, and it does look like we will be getting something. Still, will it be worth it just to have another Titan Egi? Currently there is little need to use something over Garuda for most situations. Ifrit you can get by with and is real fun to use. Some situations you can toggle Ifrit and Garuda.

But that DoT increase is so powerful, it's very hard to give up. I would like to see adjustments made to our current system so we have our new Egi not tossed to the side.

There have been many threads, and like someone mentioned a while ago very good gems of ideas get lost in the countless pages. What would people like the new Egi to do that would make it useful in game situations?

I read this whole situation to be more of "any given person only has so much Aetheric capacity, and yours is precisely three egis." Most people can barely manage one. It'll likely be in the next expansion, with Y'hmitra having discovered a means of evoking new egis, but having to replace the old ones in your Aetheric loadout, so to speak. So basically you'd choose between a handful of different "skins" for each of the Egis, cycled through via Y'hmitra or some other NPC as you wish.

That's the way that'd make the most sense to me, both from a balance perspective and lore perspective, as established by the Summoner quest line.

You could have Ramuh/Garuda/Shiva for caster, Leviathan/Ifrit/Ravana for melee, Mog/Titan/Bismarck for tank, for instance. I could see it working, and having them release new SMN sidequests with new Primal releases (or even staggering these skins, since each would be a new model, new animations, new (though identical) skills) to go face off against the Egi and earn the right to summon it. It would create a bunch of variety in Summoners, at least, seeing different Summoners with different Egi preferences.

However, going forward, I also wouldn't be surprised for them to delve deeper into the "Trance" lore established in this expansion, rather than treading the Egi ground all over again.

    Alexander Trance pls.

I'm okay with all of this, really.

Though new trances would be, like, so cool -- really hoping for the new egis the most (glamours or not, doesn't matter)

I just want Leviathan-Egi, SE. Pls. (If you make it a tank, I may never forgive you)

Some existing primals like Ramuh and Sephirot already have an egi version, so those wouldn't need as much work.

If you're referring to the adds they spawn, those are far removed from how the egis are designed. Egis are all balls of colorful aether - they don't really resemble the boss or anything the boss summons at all. Garuda looks like a little green bird - ain't no boobs on her. c:

Basically, those adds wouldn't help in the slightest in the design and modeling of the egi for either.

They clearly are egi, right down to the animation and sound effect when they are defeated.
