Despite SE's efforts tanks are still taking Strength accessories. By making STR and VIT equal in regards to attack power, secondary stats are the deciding factor.

Fending accessories are filled with parry and accuracy, both lackluster secondary stats.

Slaying accessories have the desired secondary stats that tanks want to increase their damage.

The only real way to solve this is one of two ways. Make parry worthwhile or make Strength lower than Vitality in terms of damage.

This isn't a problem in any serious content. Even wearing pentamelds can endanger your life with some of the TBs that are going out right now. You want that HP.

Plus you can fucking meld all those secondaries into the "bad" fending accessores, and STR Vs too.

Tanks still wearing full slaying gear right now are either bad, casual, or as Kumo said, they haven't had time to get new ones (poor excuse IMO, but I digress).

Yup, its a conscious decision for several tanks, especially dedicated OTs. Too much parry/acc/sks on a lot of fending accessories.

While Fending often have 2-4 more Vit than Str for the same iLvl that is ~ 1.8 AP. 20 of a good secondary stat is roughly the same. So yes they can get a DPS increase from using the slaying. But its very minor and trades off the HP. Under 3.1 we saw something like a 40-50% dps increase by doing this, here we see at most a 5% gain.

Personally I'm planning to go full Fending until I get to BiS decisions... then I'll stare a bit harder at it. (But I suspect I'd stay full fending)

Considering all 3 tanks use basically the same set now, it is possible. Except pld, who suck a 20 parry stat on their 245 shield.

One of my offtanks in a DF of midas 2 (A6/M2) went this route and it wasn't a mistake because he had a proto midian ring plus rest 210 slaying, i dono if they knew there was a tankswap in M2 or not but the second he took the boss from me he dropped to the ground, i guess that 1% dps did him wonders. moral of the story, don't think for a second that STR is as valuable as VIT with it's same AP ratio, it's not, always the the parry and suck it up no content is worth wiping because someone decides they want to stick to the old ways.

M2 has Brawler and Vortexer which both give out vulnerability stacks. Brawler is likely what killed the Str Tank BattleGrace was with. Single Buster hits for about 14k and its auto-attacks do 2k more than enough to kill an i210 Str tank.

Lets face it. Any tank worth his salt isn't going to be using slaying for any reason. the VIT has too many pluses to be casually discarded in lieu of some minor DPS increase which to be honest is complete shit now regardless of what you do.
