The Novice Network channel has become a linkshell for mentors who know each other to banter, post hunts, and occasionally fight over who's right after the one green leaf asks a simple question.

I've asked to be kicked a few times since it's spammy and annoying. The responses I've received is "we're talking to make the newbies feel comfortable" (no, you're talking because you've been given an audience) and "if you don't like it, don't be a mentor / hide the chat".

I really enjoy the mentor roulette. I take it seriously. Its a great way to provide advice if asked on the task at hand. I don't want to give that up.

As for hiding the chat, I feel like its a massive waste to sit there, silent, taking a slot for another mentor who would also like to use the channel to post hunts or whatever.

The Unable to join Novice Network spam in chat is also pretty bad.

I think the solution would be, make the channel opt in / or / make a few different smaller channels with less mentors.
