Housing Reclamation and Server Transfer

While I realize there's currently no way to transfer your house from one server to another, I was wondering about reclamation, and the service by which you can recover some of the house's contents/cost.

As I recall reading in the patch notes about the reclamation system, if your plot lapses, you can recover most of the furnishings, and you get a large portion of the cost of the land back (I think it's 80%?). My question is: if a person lets their plot lapse, and then transfers servers, will they be able to recover their housing items/gil after the transfer (to save on inventory space)?

I'd think not, but I'm curious.

In the event your estate or private chambers have been automatically relinquished, your character cannot have housing items in the care of the resident caretaker or a chocobo in the care of the housing enthusiast.
