Quests that REQUIRE Flying

All these "flying's not hard" replies man...they're not asking to remove these quests or the requirements, just flag them as "hey you need flying to do this quest". Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Unless they changed it in 3.2, you cannot mount a two seater chocobo in flying areas, until you unlocked all air currents, to prevent carting people without flying.

Been able to do this since either 3.1 or 3.15. Done it myself on alts, and have done it for others.

This type of topic was brought up back when the xpac came out. They have made it a bit easier but except possibly when 4.0 comes out they aren't going to make it automatic outside of one area. It ain't that difficult to do, this really is just a complaint thread.

As well, by the time you start getting quests requiring flying you should already have/almost have access to it (and already have all the quest giver aerthers.)

That depends if you even plan on get flying for an area. If you don't do hunts there's not much point for some of them. Adding a simple 'wing icon' or something to denote flying needed to quests would be a nice QoL.

Although I do agree with the other posts above that flying is absolutely worth it, relatively easy to obtain, and actually kind of fun to get when you first explore a new zone (danger! Excitement! Sightseeing!), I also agree that not everyone feels the same way I do. The quoted text above describes a great indicator for quests that require flight - for those who choose not to get it or for those who have not yet obtained it.

Dear Square Enix,

If you are going to include quests in the Churning Mists that REQUIRE flying, can you please add a special mark to the game that TELLS us that you need flying in order to complete these quests.

I am tired of running around, only to find the target is so few feet in the air above me. I have absolutely 0 interest in flying because of the requirements for it and I am not running around to unlock flying for a questing area that I'm never going to come back to after I have finished levelling there. (As I don't do alts or any of that obsessionist crap, I just want to enjoy the game on one class only.)

However it would be nice to know if a Quest requires flying or not so that I know I can ignore it and move on to other quests otherwise its just a gigantic waste of my time.

Other then that, the expansion has produced the best content for this game by far, most of the characters are much less annoying with their redone voices and I feel that the overall quality of this expansion is excellent.

Wow, with this kind of antagonistic attitute towards the game and the community, I suggest quitting the game right now and doing something else with your time.

Hunting for the Aether Currents is the most fun I've had exploring areas in FF14, and even if you find it boring it's just like 15 minutes and then you can fly forever, flying ALSO being something that's supposed to be fun, something that fills you with excitement when working towards unlocking it.

You're approaching the game in entirely the wrong way and should just leave now.

I think the rest of the game is fine, ALL I am asking for is a "icon" that lets me, the player KNOW if the quest REQUIRES flying so I don't run around like a headless chicken. Classic example: Quest in Churning Mists with the Nests at Zenith. The quest doesn't say ANYTHING about flying but the red marker makes you think its a ground level. How is a bit more clarity so I go "Oh I don't have flying in this area yet, I will skip over that for now" and can plan my questing for the area accordingly. Like marking LeveQuests in an area.

How is that a bad thing and worth my quitting the game over.

If it helps, ask someone with a 2-seater mount to fly you to the currents, offer a small tip for time and done. Takes like 5-10minutes. I know you don't WANT to, but your not going to be able to complete the Main Story without it anyway. Granted I think its basically forced on you in Azys now that I think on it.

As has already been pointed out, I don't think this is possible.

OP, flying is one of the best parts of this expansion, you are really missing out. It is really well done.
