Novice Network A Week Later

I'm not sure how it's been on other servers, but I'm noticing that now that things have settled in, the Novice Network seems to be working pretty well on Diabolos.

The mentor-to-mentor chatter has calmed down (it's not absent, but that's fine), and there are usually a good number of sprouts on at any given time. Folks are asking questions and getting helpful answers, and I've seen a few sprouts even commenting on how nice the community has been.

How has it been for everyone else?

This is refreshing to hear, I hope other servers follow this example.

So far on my server, the people with the crowns have been iffy. Some are very polite, one was even helping a tank get use to tank busters. It was awesome.

Another tank called people useless, and a FATE grinder. Very rude, and to just stop dying.

I've only made it onto the Novice Network on Ultros for brief periods late at night but it seems pretty decent. So far I've seen mentors answering questions about chocobos and crafting.

We have sprouts that are actually alts. They only asked to be invited to the network so they could be in on the global chat feature. Wouldn't say it's settled, it's more samey.

I still can't get in the channel in Excalibur. Got in twice last week, a week after it still says always unable to join. Considering this is a legacy server, most of the player base will have at least one job of each role to settle as mentor, so I don't think this will "calm down" anytime soon. I might just get rid of the crown.

Working fine on Jenova, sprouts asking for help and getting help. Many commenting they are glad this chat is avaialble to them so they don't feel so overwhelmed and lost in the game being able to ask for help anytime and commenting on how nice the community is. The mentors chatting is there at times but not constant and it is friendly, everyone tries hard not to give out spoilers in the chat.

I am enjoying the system and helping new players.

From what I've heard here on Sargatanas, there's frequently a lot of mentors afk in the channel just kind of clogging things up so nobody can get into it. The other day, someone took it upon themselves to kick some of the afk mentors to get new ones in, which was working fine till someone else took exception to that and kicked them for abuse of power. Good times.
