Lightbulb Allow flying in seal rock

Remember the video pre heavensward release of that group flying around with all their mounts. That seemed awesome but really haven't seen that in the game besides everyone flying to a hunt. Since seal rock is so big why not implement flying. I would rather be able to fly in seal rock then have a new mode under 24 pvp, because let's face it 72 is the best and most fun pvp mode.

    Do you agree or not?

Update, so there's alot of negatives, but I think if there were a flying mount recast timer to something like 180 seconds it would fix alot of them. The regular mounts would still be able to be called instantly. It's just a suggestion for something new, which as with any changes would need to be tweaked for it to be implemented. Same old stuff gets old quick and I think seal rock should have been expanded because it's one of the best unfinished things in the game.

    "Seal rock is so big"

you're kidding right. unless they added floating islands and made the map a BIT bigger, there's no reason to have flying as it'd be too retarded imo.

They haven't even had time to update the non-SR PVP modes for level 60 yet, so I don't imagine this would realistically happen any time soon. Personally speaking I feel how the leaders direct their forces around the map and choose which bases to hold is a key strategic element of Seal Rock which would be weakened greatly if everyone could zoom around in the air and drop down wherever they liked. It will also be even more annoying to try to find everyone to keep them buffed up if half of them are soaring yalms above my head

I would not say no to a separate PVP game with flying in future, however. After they raise Secure/Slaughter to 60 and bring the rewards in line with Seal Rock so we can mix things up more, that is.

Since you couldn't keep people away because you can't attack them in the air that would just make it really boring.

    ...What.

Moving in Seal Rock is just fine. Knowing the environment (ie, if you want to go into caves but you're on beach, instead of going North you go through mid to minimize your time moving) and adjusting to it and the other teams to get in/out of the action quicker.

You can't even attack while mounted. Someone could easily just stay 31 yalms above everyone's head and they would never have to worry about any attacks hitting them ever and the flying speed (which is 2-4x faster than a ground mount) means that one could easily escape combat if not by height, then by speed alone. As Seal is now, your escape is not always guaranteed and thus there are consequences for being caught alone and you should always be on your toes.

Without that fear of being attacked, GCs would just have scouts following the other two GCs around constantly and Seal would lose it's surprise advantage (ie, we have two B ranks, but xx has an A rank very close to xx's B rank. Will they hit us or will they go after the A rank?) as well as the quick decision making that comes with it (ie, they hit our North node, but xx hasn't taken their B node. Should we rush to defend or node or stay on the high ground because xx might be coming in for a pinch?).

Flying would not play with the type of PvP that Seal Rock is, it would play against it. If you want to watch 72 people fly around together, start a Fat Chocobo parade in Idyllshire and lead them into the Hinterlands and make flying parades a thing again.

Please no. It'd just change things too much and it'd be silly if you could just take off/fly away when someone is chasing you.

Ok I guess I didn't think about all the other stuff involved, I forgot you couldn't attack someone flying. Which makes no sense because if you fly close to a enemy in the game it can attack you even when you're flying. That would probably just have to be changed and something to the extent of when you get hit you get dismounted.

We don't actually know someone can't be attacked while flying and as monsters already do this, it is likely they would get hit. However, only ranged players/skills would actually be able to get a hit off and if someone flew straight up and in the reverse direction, they'd probably be out of range very quickly.

Melee all have the single pvp range skill, they could add a dismount status to it.
