Please let us socket materia without crafting

Now that raid and tome gear has materia slots can we affix materia into this gear without leveling our crafting classes? As it is now, every time I get an upgrade I have to go to my static's crafter and ask them put it in for me which is fairly tedious.

No level a crafter if you want to do it yourself. Maybe you want to be able to craft the items too without leveling a crafter because it's so tedious to have to do that. Sorry but crafters can't do raids without leveling a war/magic class and those who don't want to level the crafters shouldn't be able to meld. It's fine just the way it is.

While we're at it, can I have gear from midas savage by just leveling up my botanist ? It's fairly tedious that I have to level up battle classes in order to get loot from there.

No level a crafter if you want to do it yourself. Maybe you want to be able to craft the items too without leveling a crafter because it's so tedious to have to do that. I don't understand how it's so much to ask that dungeon and raid gear not newly require a crafter to really utilize. Because that's exactly what the extra slot on each piece does unless base materia slots become fill-able without a crafter.

Leave all slots beyond that for crafters, perhaps even including that first slot on crafted gear.

slotting materia is something raiders did not have to worry about, and crafting/raiding was fairly separate. Participation in crafting was not required for raiding, and participation in raiding in not required for crafting. being able to slot my own materia without having to bother someone else is far from wanting to craft my own gear.

Is it really that troublesome to shout for someone to meld you Materia and offer a 5K tip in the process? It's not like you're trying to slot in a million Materia breaking it into an overmeld slot. It'll be at most one or two per piece of gear.

I hate to say it, but your request just screams "lazy" and "I don't want to interact with anyone" at the same time, sorry to say :/

Not to mention making crafters more irrelevant. People say they "don't want to be a bother", but why are you playing a game where you have to talk to other people?

TC, if you don;t want to bother your FC's crafter, then don't. Shout in Idyllshire or somewhere that you are looking for a crafter to meld for you. It's not hard. Just be sure to leave something of a tip.
