Macros/Gear Sets/Hotbars should all be saved server side!

For a game that lets me seamlessly switch between PS4 and PC, it's kind of horrible that I need to reset my macros, gear sets, and hotbars each time I play the game on a different platform. It takes literally hours to set up everything the same and you begin to run into a problem when you play on one platform more than the other. Right now I don't craft on my PC because it would take a long time to get all the gear sets up and running along with the hotbars and macros. Is there any way this can be changed in the future?

PS: I will pay cash money to have Minfilia's new hair on the Mog Station.

It took years, but they were finally able to add server side macros to FFXI. It shouldn't put any noticeable increase on the server load.

Agreed! At the very least, the ability to sync your various play methods is an absolute need.

It would increase. No matter what it would cause more bandwidth. Would it be too much for the servers? I have no idea, only they would know.

I'm not arguing against this, I would love it but with their constant "can't increase inventory because of bandwidth", I wouldn't count on them adding this idea any time soon.

Not really. All they would need is a backup restore option on character select. Which is what xi did.

Thus it would only use bandwidth when those function were used. It wouldn't need to be a real time thing saving every change you make to the server as you make it.

So the bandwidth use would be negligible. Goto character select. Upload your settings. Login to ps4 character select and download them. Job done.

I agree that this would be great, but Yoshida's already said that they can't store hotbars and macros server side at this time, as it would take up too much memory.

We're not requesting live updates so the bandwidth issues with inventory upgrades don't apply (as proven by the fact that this feature actually already exists in the PS3 version for the specific purpose of migrating to PS4).

If they don't want the storage overhead of all of that data, just have it as a premium feature. I'd rather have it for free but it's an annoying enough problem that I'd pay a small fee for the space on the server if necessary. PC users who only use PC could still back up and restore locally for free. The rest of us would finally get to play cross-platform without going nuts.
