best NA server for raiding?

Gilgamesh has the largest population of raid-minded players. It's hard to make a character in though, since it's usually locked. You'll probably have to transfer in or make a character at odd hours.

Really, it would depend on your schedule and commitment. Generally, high population servers are always a safe bet. Otherwise, it depends whether you're focusing on world firsts or just want a nice group of friends to spend the evening with gaming and dying a thousand deaths to get those mechanics down.

You're on Balmung, so you already have a very decent selection of FCs to choose from at all times. You should have plenty of choices if you just look in the partyfinder or forums. Still, if you really want to switch, I'd take a look at Gilgamesh and Excalibur as those have some world-first raid groups on them.

If you want less latency, I think Phoenix and Shiva have some good world-first FCs if you live in the EU. For Asia and Australia, Ridill has a very large Aussie population you can tap if you Japanese isn't good.

If world firsts aren't your thing, just look around the forums and chat with people in game. You'll find some raid group you will click with. Some may even be looking to form a raid group from scratch.
