3% haste is generally better than nothing at all, and as ruskie mentioned it can help with openeres if, especially if you're lagging or low on SS. Also Fey Carress at worst case can still be used to cleanse of Pacification, Poison, etc. off a single person and you'll save a GCD on it.
I wouldn't use Eos unless your healing partner in 8man asks you to (or solo healing it), but if you prefer to use her on any content at least use her on Obey. Can't stand seeing Whispering Dawn > Fey Covenant > Fey Illumination going off the first second of a fight (and in an order that makes no sense).

That reminds me of something I needed to test. I had Eos out for something (I think a fight was going sideways for some reason or another and I needed the extra healing power) and had forgotten to switch her to Obey before the pull, but she used Fae Illumination before Whispering Dawn. I was in shock.

In full parties depends on who my co healer is. In things like void arks third boss I would typically place selene behind the boss so she can fey wind the dps. While I stand off to one side and other healer takes the other.

Allows me to remove poisons if the dps are slow to move even if they're out of my range selene can usually get them. Also good in there for the first boss if ppl are slow and get electrocuted.

The only skill that's not much cop I think is silence.

My only issue is I witch pets remembered settings. Nearly always watch my fairys pop all her abilities in my first duty of the day cos she defaults to sic when you log in

You can macro your summon to avoid that, I think the command is /pac obey right after the summon, I'll check back when I'll log.

    You'll make a fine corpse.

Obey should be commanded just after your fairy summons in. Which is roughly two seconds after the summon ability finishes. For an example macro:

    /ac Swiftcast <wait.2>
    /ac Summon <wait.2>
    /pac Obey <wait.6>
    /pac Obey

The second Obey is present in case Swiftcast was down and you had to summon the long way.

On another note, I always use Eos because Selene's haste buff doesn't seem worth it. 0.075s shaved off a 2.5 second global cooldown seems completely insignificant. You'd earn an extra ability for every buffed 33 abilities you use... Except with the number of people espousing how useful it is, I'm starting to think I have the mechanics wrong. Could someone give me a rundown?

B> Fey Explosion 15 sec cd 70 potency AOE based on mind (Equivalent to Topaz Carbuncles "Shining Topaz" instead of Silent Dusk [Even though it IS our only stop that skill limited applications or not.)]

I think I did the math a while back, but obviously the more people in your party the more DPS selene brings. 8 party members getting an extra attack every 33 hits, outweighs the extra hit Eos frees up with the extra healing. Eos boosts dps by almost 1% as long as you don't overheal, where as selene boosts dps APPROACHING 3%. Its not a massive difference, but a gain is a gain.

PS. Also Agreed. Fey Caress is the best thing that ever happened to selene. She is borderline a mechanic breaker.

For me it's situational. Back in 2.0 I rarely used Selene, now I use her more than Eos. But it really depends on what I'm doing.

I never thought I would ever say this, but Selene's silence ability has been saving lives in a6s when the BRD dies.

I wish Selene's haste buff was more noticeable, but when you don't need Eos's healing kit she's still fairy-best-friend.
