The mentor system is almost a week old now, and just a few minutes ago I was able to enter the newbie chat as a mentor. It was to be expected that there will be a lot of mentors, specially in the time the system is new - be it because people want to use the mentor roulette, or want to have a crown in their name, or perhaps even want to actually help newbies. I'm pretty sure the last one of these three groups of mentors is highly interested in entering and contributing in the newbie chat, thus I'm pretty frustrated by the very fact that almost half of all mentors who have access to the chat... is afk.

So, people who actually give a shit about newbies and just call themselves a mentor for more tomes and for prestige are sitting there, doing nothing at all, while people who want to help stay outside. We're allowed to kick people, but for harassment and the like, not for simply being afk - and I doubt that anyone would kick someone for being afk as every kick will be reported. So I think something is going terribly wrong there.

My suggestion: Mentors who are afk for a certain amount of time (for example, 15 minutes) should be temporarily removed from the newbie chat. When they return and if there's still room in the chat, they can return to it.
