    Recipe Book

I know this has been suggested before in a variety of ways but I feel the issue really needs more attention. We need a proper recipe book for synthesis. A system that logs all recipes we have and categorizes them based on whatever craft we're currently using.

    Ex:

    Armorer
    |
    | -- Armor
    | |
    | -- Helmet
    | |
    | -- Copper Barbut
    | -- Bronze Chain Coif
    | -- ...
    |
    -- Tools
    |
    -- Bronze Skillet
    -- Copper Alembic

Means of obtaining the recipe could be as simple as, once you've completed the synthesis once it is stored. They could be obtained through NPC shops or even enemy drops. They could be quest rewards or part of an event. There's a variety of ways to do this.

I just feel we need an organized menu for selecting permanently stored recipes. Having a "Last 10" menu is only so useful. Also keep the option to simply put the materials in if you know them off the top of your head, but allow the recipe book to be a second option the same way the current Recipe menu is now.

Edit: There was better formatting on the example but the forum hates spacing

They're apparently working on that, Arcell. But I wouldn't expect it to be implemented until after the battle system changes.

Currently our 'recipe book' remembers the last 8 recipes we completed per class. I like how they seperated it by class finally, the only thing that needs to be done is remove the limit of 8 so it just remembers everything we've done per class.

And make it A - Z, otherwise it would be a nightmare finding them.

I'm not a fan of putting items behind parenthesis, the marketward does this and half the time I duno where things are.

SE should have a look at how WoW does their recipe book, you can search items by typing the name or filter them out by type.

Well all that's officially been stated is:

Expansion of synthesis recipe history (currently stores eight recipes)
They never said in what manner. I feel a recipe book like this would be not only a solution to permanently storing recipes but it is an organized one. If whatever they implement isn't organized and is just based on last learned or used I probably won't use it anyway.

Hmmm. I could have sworn they said they were changing it to 8 recipes first, and later on were going to add every synth you've done. But I'll have to go back and figure out where I'm getting that from. I could be remembering it wrong.

But you're right that they never said how they would be organized. I just assumed that they'd use your organization system, since it's the most intuitive. I really hope they're not just going to have a gigantic list (like my inventory). So, I definitely support your idea for organization, too.
