I noticed yesterday that mobs killed for a leve quest give much much less xp than a mob of the same level when killed outside of leves. Why is this? Simply because the gold/xp bonus at the end is supposed to be enough to make up for it or what?

That's the idea, but sometimes that's not even worth it. I've been chaining 20-22 cactuars on grind with my friend and we gained so much better exp from those and ditching the leves (with 20-ish cactuars) at camp horizon.
Company leves give really good exp if you make the mobs the same level as you. I get 500+ a mob. If you're 30+ try that.
I was doing one 2 levels higher than me, and mobs gave less exp than normal mobs 2 levels Under me. I understand a decrease in exp given but it should still be reasonable :|
Leve mobs are typically weaker than normal mobs for the same level. That's why they give lesser XP.
Hmm. I also realized that "normal" leves are almost never worth the trouble now.
Perhaps the company leves are different...?
company leves, give the normal monster bonus, however they are solo only, the advantage though is, you can invoke favor which gives a base 50% boost, and you get an sp bonus at the end.
Basic leves are pretty decent, especially the higher you go, at 49 you can get up to 7.5k bonus exp in less than 7 minutes. but low level? ehhh do it for the cash/marks/items or if you need to help a friend. Duoing or trioing would probably give you better sp most times.
