How do you figure out rotations before the simulators are updated?

I've been doing 2-star pretty successfully with ~1k starting quality.

However my stats for 3-star will require me to use clam chowder instead of seafood stew, so I'll have lower CP and need to find a new rotation. The simulators doesn't seem to have three-star yet any suggestions for how to figure it out myself?

(Base stats are: Craft 853, Control 778, CP (404-410), with Clam Chowder: Craft 853, Control 851, CP 423-429)

u need to figure out a way to use baked onion or seafood. CP is extremely important. (easier to min. min. for craft than it is for control so stew is better choice BUT is a lot more expensive unless u craft it)

Agreed. The extra CP makes a big difference.

Since the specialist bonus boosted my crafts just above 850, I melded control on my 170 MH, OH, and body to hit 789 control before food.

This way, HQ seafood will bring you to the required 820 control (789+31), while keeping the extra 50 CP.

It's possible to hit higher than 850 Craft, 821 Control, and 400+ CP using highly melded i170 gear, the i180 MH, and two pieces of melded i140 jewelry.

TC, bump your gear up as needed to reach the 850 craft, 820 control without using food or specialist token.

Sigh, was hoping to work on the 220s today, but I'll take your advice and do some more gearing up. just painful that its probably at least four more pieces (two for two classes) with annoying melds. I melded my 150s so well that the upgrades all feel unsatisfying

There's this one, for example: http://ffxiv-beta.lokyst.net/#/simulator

Personally, I didn't really try to figure out a rotation for 3 star crafting this patch. Seeing the requirements and how you can provide every material in HQ (unlike Fieldcraft Demis required for some 2 star recipes) I was pretty convinced that Rath's rotation would serve me well.

It has for me so far. The rotation is pretty much identical to the 2* version except that I sometimes need to take an extra CSII in there somewhere if the FS run gives me a bad streak. With a control stat somewhere in the ballpark of minimum + Seafood Stew bonus, if you get to 11 IQ stacks it'll typically hit the 80-90% HQ mark starting from 0 quality. 100% if you get a good condition on the Byregot's or manage to fit in an Innovation.

I've gotten maybe 2-3 NQ mats out of 20-30 so far this way and all HQ gear (since you can stack a ton of HQ mats onto those.)

I don't do "rotations" except when I'm using a macro. Figure out what you need to complete the progress in the easiest way, fit in at least a MMII, and the rest of the synth revolves around that.

Test out using the cheap synths (you can get NQ mats for 3 star mats pretty cheap) and go from there.

So geared up enough to go back to my old rotations. Made four pieces of the fending set. very easy crafts. started to gamble on the ingots at the end and olded seeded in 5 HQ mats to save on the Lumythrite, and still was getting 100% fairly easy. Also switched to do 3 PbP inside the MaMa, not sure if I'll keep that, but it does get a tone of progress fairly cheaply in terms of dur/cp balance.
