    About the mentor system...

As has been discussed in many threads, the mentor system and novice network are extremely flawed. And I believe the reason for this is that it is far too easy to become a mentor.

How I think the mentor system should be designed is something like this:

    - Junior Mentor: This is the current requirements, however you ONLY get access to the duty roulette mentor, and not the novice network.

    - Mentor: This promotion allows you access to the novice network, but does not allow you to kick other players.

    - Senior mentor: The top rank of mentor, you should be seen as a role model to both mentors and sprouts, and you are responsible for keeping order in the novice network, and have the power to kick if necessary.

The way you are promoted is with a new point system called "Mentor commendations". These are only obtained from the mentor roulette (maybe other ways too?) from sprouts or people with first time bonus, and they can either give you a thumbs up if you were helpful and did your job, a neutral if you werent all that helpful or detremental, or a thumbs down if you were bad.

The thumbs down takes away a commendation, and getting 20 in a month results in suspension of your mentor status.

50 thumbs up promotes a junior mentor to a mentor, and 250 thumbs up gets you senior status, and each promotion will change your mentor crown to be shinier. To deter farming, these numbers cannot be seen.

No thanks. Right now the community is divided into three obvious groups, mentor, non mentor, and sprout. Last thing we need is more division. Your idea of senior mentors being the only ones able to kick could work assuming all the respectful people with integrity are the only ones to become senior mentors and frankly that won't happen.

I kinda get what you are saying, but the point of that is to add more restriction to it. Currently we have a tonne of people who are becoming mentors who have the power to kick, and arent respectful. This idea is so that once you become a mentor you then have to prove that you are serious about it, as currently the restrictions have nothing to do with mentoring, and just prove that you have played the game for a sufficient amount of time.

Senior mentors have no more power than current mentors have now, and you don't have to prove that you are a respectful player at all to have that power, think of them like moderators in the novice network. They have more power, but also more responsibility, and harsher consequences if they abuse that power.
