Actual strategy or just trolling? (Gilgamesh Big Keep trial)

So I DF'd Gilgamesh big keep for giggles and things went ok. In the 2nd part of the fight, I got chained up as healers usually do and no one bothered to break the chain, letting me die. I complained about it and the tank said it makes the fight "easier". I wondered HOW the heck it does cause Gilgamesh doesn't seem to change his patterns and I doubt it's for MAD DEEPS since you're saving about maybe 10 to 15 seconds at most.


So they used this strategy "twice" and now I had the Brink of Death debuff. Thanks to the DPS players being quite slow, 3 dragon heads survived and I instantly die to Gilgamesh's Dragonspirit attack. Eventually, most of the DPS ate the floor after being slow to avoid the AOE spam.

Is there something here I am not seeing?

Sorry dude i think you just met some baddies who did not want to bother breaking your goal in order to save their (low) dps for the boss.

He's wasn't entirely wrong, if you sac the first target you can one cycle the boss but that's only if your dps is competent. Never an assumption to make in duty finder.

That seems to be the case. 3 BLMs that couldn't even kill the adds quickly.

It's an actual "farming" strategy when farming the card was a thing, and somehow the innocent random duty finder got affected by it, either healer usually galvanized/stoneskin each other to make the dying process longer too..
