General tips for A8/Midas 4 NM on DF

So almost 5 days into 3.2 most groups even in DF are smoothly sailing over the first 2 phases of A8. That being said, it looks like the reason many runs still go to shit is during the arrow stacking mechanic due to the unpredictability of the floor AOEs that precede it, and then the transition to Apocalyptic Ray which catches some players off guard before they can get behind him.

Has anyone made any observations or more effective strategies during this transition? In most of my runs in DF the successful ones usually go with stacking directly under the boss because, more often than not, no AOEs pop under him.

What mine did, that after we got our coordination together worked, was while we spread out during the floor aoes, everyone converged on the boss after the 3 mechanic combo(floor, beam , bioarithmetic). This left us in a good position to quickly stack for the mechanic and then bolt when he used apocalyptic ray. The sad thing is it took 4 wipes for people to get the hint that the arrows mean stack... I wish I could joke about that.

For phase 4 have the party stack behind the boss. If aoes land, dodge then stack again behind boss to share the damage for the target indicated attack.

For apocolyptic ray or laser beam just run through boss to the tanks position.

The offtank can also move to the main tanks position for double rocket punch to share the damage.

For the jump kick, cant remember what its called, spread out and get away from the target player.

I'm quite desperate 2 days straight of farming and i sill had to complete 1 time A8.

The combat is fun, complex and people keep failing at the simplest thing like the arrow stacking....it's just like in void ark ffs why i still see people running away from other player...i'm quite frustrated

SE is bad at communicating when you should and shouldn't stack. The best example I can think of are tethers; Ifrit's tethers you have to run TO the person, but Charibert's tethers you run FROM the person. They look the same, but you have no idea they do different things until they kill you.

Of course, I don't really know why people would continue to make the same mistake after seeing what killed them the first time, but that's DF for you.

Exactly why I don't like doing A1... People, who have cleared this before, don't seem to get the hint that they need to be separated, that alarum need to be killed under the lasers, and that you gotta kill em at the same time.

the way EU DF does it is all behind boss and on the left side for positionals. AoE => all goto the right side of the boss.

Easy to avoid AoEs, easy to stack, easy to move for apocalyptic rays after.

    Strangely, people seem to struggle more with A5 & A6 than A7 & A8.
